Are those double cabs or crew max's? I'm guessing a new limited DC would be around 44k plus tax and a crew max 47-48k plus tax.

And I've read about adding the transmission cooler just not sure how much.

All of them are Crew MAxs but none of them are 4X4.
Not even the 1794 which I had to double & triple check cuz I assumed that ALL 1794s were 4X4.
But that apparently .....is not so.

    Wow.
That's exactly why I'm venturing outta my state in search of one.
    Georgia prices are crazy!

But I will say however, that this one is $42.5K with the tax tag and title fees all rolled in.
At $44K + Taxes & other fees, Im gonna be pushing $48k which is too rich for my blood.

On the flip side of that though......you've also got me feeling like I'm getting reamed at $42.5 for a 2WD.

Isn’t there a ridiculous tax if you import a vehicle into georgia? My brother didn’t take his car when he moved there because he would have had to pay sales tax again on it? Maybe he heard wrong

I agree go new, if those used trucks are on original tires and brakes that could be close to 2k alone.

And who knows why the got rid of them so soon. Sure they could be mint but I don't believe carfax 100%.

Georgia has whats called a TAVT which stands for title ad valorem ad tax fee. Its a one time fee based on the current market value of the vehicle. (6.6%)
Pay that once and you never pay anything again save for registration renewal fee of $20.00 every year on your B-day.
This is this way now bcuz used vehicle dealers got together & complained that private sellers were making money selling cars on craigslist t& evading taxes, whereas dealers were required to report every transaction and pay taxes on said transactions.
Now...we ALL gave to pay those taxes.
    (Thanks dealers)
So yeah if i buy a truck now I pay that 6.6% based on not only its current market value...but what (GEORGIA) deems that value to be.
They are in essence...their very own blue book.
If I buy a vehicle tis year & sell it the same year..that new owner also pays that 6.6%.
If they in turn re-sell it the same year..that new owner will also pay it...& so on & so forth.
So basically the state of Ga is making a killing on this "one time tax" alone.
    Your brother was correct.
If he were to move here, in order to register it in Ga, he'd be charged 6.6% of whatever the vehicle is deemed to be worth..no matter if he just purchased & paid taxes on it 3 days prior to moving here.
Hence why we see a smorgasborg of different state license plates here on our roads.
People move here...but keep their vehicles registered in the state that they moved from in order to bypass this ridiculous law.

Who here would buy a 2WD 1794 edition?

    All the bells and whistles...EXCEPT.....4WD
    Is that even sensible?

WA has the same thing, only it’s called Use Tax and it’s equal to sales tax rate at whatever the address of the registeree is charged at. On used cars, our title is also a Bill of Sale and the seller puts the sale price for the state to base tax off of. If buying out of state, you have to get a bill of sale signed by the seller or you get stuck paying the state calculated value. Only way out of it is a bonafide gift to a family member.

if you move to Washington and your vehicle has been registered in your prior state for less than a certain length of time (i think 9 months), you’ll also pay use tax unless you can prove you paid tax in the other state. If you did pay tax in the other state, they’ll nicely deduct the tax you paid elsewhere and just charge you the difference...

as a business, we have to actually pay use tax on vehicles that our company has registered in Oregon, but that are driven by residents of WA and parked at their homes after work.

Jebus...the used market is nutty and full of flavor right now.

This makes a lot of sense. If you could get a new truck for $47 to $50K with the EXACT options and color you want, wouldn't that be something to consider. The Cement Gray 2018 Limited with 19k miles for $42.5K might not be that much more new.
