I love mine with AVS / Air Ride, power running boards, head up display, super comfy soft leather seats too! Did get rid of the dark wheels for a set of 1794 wheels though.20231112_114652.jpg

Load the details for your trade into Carvana and see if you can get a better price. The process is amazingly simple and efficient.

    23 platinum here.

2023 4x4 5.5ft Tundra Platinum CM Blueprint Non HV

    1. AQ : AVS + HUD (hud now has its own option code, was part of the AQ package, wife loves the hud, i dont since i wear polarized glasses which negates the benefit),
    2. RB : Automatic Running Boards (this includes the power bedstep, thought i would hate these due to slush freezing, but they never froze during the 2 winters so far, usually we like static running boards),
    3. 2T : All Weather Liners (decent but not as good as the husky top line ones),
    4. LB : Toyota Spray In Bed Liner (ok but its a toss up with getting line-x vs oem for the same cost or less),
    5. 3P : Paint Protection Film (had the oem on my 14 4runner and its held up nicely, no dis-coloration yet),

    Mods :
    1. OEM Mud Guards Full Kit > Rekgen Tundra Sport Flaps (oem are great if you dont go outside of oem specs, rekgen are good but really spendy),
    2. Access Original Rollup Cover (its worked great for our 12 & 16 tacoma and our 18 tundra),
    3. TVD Vinyls (letter inserts for front/rear of truck),
    4. Fuel Flame 6 D823 (20x9, 106.10 Bore, +20 Offset, 6x139.7 Bolt Pattern, 5.790 BSM, 2500 lbs Rating, 41 lbs, Lug Conical, Milled Candy Red),
    5. Goodyear Duratrac 275/60R20 P-Rated (46 lbs) (OEM Wheels + Tires = 77 lbs, vs the fuel + goodyears @ 87 lbs)

fuel wheels are nice, but not great, the red has more orange tint than i would have liked

only use p-rated tires since 99% of the time is a road princess truck (wifes daily driver)

Not sure this has been mentioned yet, but the Platinum is going to have a lot more “get up and go” than the SR5. There’s a massive difference in acceleration between my Platinum and my coworker’s SR5. That alone makes it a much better option in my opinion.
Not sure if you have cloth or leather seats in your SR5, but the besides comfort the leather is much easier to clean. If you’re carrying dogs around a lot that’s a pretty big bonus.
Though I don’t really use them in Texas, the heated seats and steering wheel work very well. The cooling feature in the seats, while better than previous models, isn’t super noticeable though.
If you’re concerned about the power running boards sticking when it’s cold, just hit the switch and leave them out during that time of year. Personally I’d rather not have power running boards since stationary ones help mitigate door dings in parking lots. Since it came with them, I generally hit the switch to leave them out when I park around other people.

The downside of a Mercedes is its tendency to make the owner forget how to drive though. They also seem to lack blinkers in my experience.

It may be confirmation bias on my part, but Audi, Mercedes, and BMW drivers seem to struggle more than most.

Thanks for the detailed reply. Until this thread I was not aware the power running boards had the option to switch them inactive, which would really help in the winter.
I do have cloth seats, but they are covered for the dogs. They are honestly fairly easy to clean so far, and comfort wise I don't really have a recent comparison. The last leather seats I had were in a '06 Ford Fusion and they were horribly uncomfortable in the cold and heat.

    Appreciate your feedback!

I just picked up this Platinum last week. I know it doesn't have AVS but I just had the need to show it off :)

I'm in MN too and as you know, this wasn't a good winter to be able to test out anything snow related (at least here in Mpls area). I did however have an issue with the running boards after the snow last week. I left the boards deployed overnight and apparently enough snow built up that when the passenger side went to retract it sensed an obstacle and deployed again, but I didn't realize it until I got where I was going. I kicked the snow off and opened/closed the door and it retracted normally (the manual explains why and when this can happen). On my 2023 1794 the switch does allow you to manually deploy all of the boards but they do not stay out once you hit 3mph. The switch also has an off position but that keeps them retracted. As far as I know, there's no way to leave them deployed while driving unless you pull a fuse or something. I'm sure someone will chime in here if I'm not correct about that.

Obstructing of standing on it might do it, haha
I love that you can turn them off, makes it nice when loading or unloading, you’re not constantly banging your shins

The Platinum is worth it. I have the 1794 which is essentially identical to the Platinum except for the leather color and the chrome accents. And after 25 years of base level trucks, my wife finally has a luxury seat, a main factor in the trim level selection. When I compared it to the Ram with comparable tech and creature features, the Tundra was about $10k less. Approaching the end of my first 30 days of ownership, I am very pleased with my Tundra selection.

I really appreciate the feedback. Honestly my wife's comfort is 70% of the deciding factor since she really hates the lack of adjustability in the SR5 seats, as well as the stiffer ride of the TRD Sport (hence the want for AVS and Comfort setting).

Quite happy with my Platinum. I have always purchased the "Off Road" trims of previous vehicles, but want wanted something more luxurious now that I'm passed my 20's.

Let’s not forget the black headliner, but going from the grey headliner in my Tacoma to black headliner was nice. I have my windows tinted 5% so it feels darker inside of the truck.
