I paid cash for my tundra, and my DD car. Anyone who knows me, knows that proves this guy's flexing is worthless. I haven't been around in a while and its been even longer since I read posts from the genpop around here. This guy confirms why I did and will stick to the SSEM threads, the fact I am one and he never will be is all the flex I need.

Yeah let me run get that for you like I GAF what you think. Pretend I’m lying if that makes you feel better.
Instead I’ll just leave a couple of pieces of advice:

    1) If you base your own or someone else’s worth on money, you’re trash.

    2) Be careful not to get your droopy old man balls caught in those running boards you love so much.

Are you guys done yet? ……..Anyways. Yes, I love the powered running boards. I’d be fine without them but they’re really helpful for shorter guests, kids and elderly family.

I only put 50% down on my '22, didn't pay cash outright. Its also not a platinum. Guess I'm scum.

Oh well. I'm still SSEM and Toyomafia.

    Question regarding power running boards.

To set up the question, I’m not an off roader, all pavement. I live in cold snowy climates 4-5months.

I have a 2023 Limited Crewmax Hybrid, 34” tires and a level. Little challenge getting in, harder getting out, basically sliding out, especially for wife and kids. Unfortunately, the truck did not come with power running boards. Correct me if I’m wrong, but going OEM is very difficult since the truck was not factory wired. My best bet would be going with aftermarket? If so what’s better Go Rhino or Amp?

Currently, Go Rhino is available with a 30% deal nets to $1400. From what I can read, dual motors is a must for colder climates, which Go Rhino has. Any other input and or issues relating?

Amp is still working on Gen 3 options…maybe available sometime in 2023 so I’m told.

    I appreciate your feedback.

regardless of single/dual motors, if you get enough slush/ice/snow build up on the boards, it wont deploy if i am correct since the resistance will trigger the motor shutoff. if they dont shutoff, then they will probably burn out the motors trying deploy a frozen board.

that is my biggest concern being in ND during our 4-6 month winters. right now i use a wooden hammer handle to knock off build up on my 14 4runner limited static running boards before i drive into the garage so it doesnt fall off in the garage. i imagine i will put another hammer handle in the tundra to solve this same problem with the automatic running boards for the winter for us.

First thing I removed when I got my Platinum. I wish I could have gotten it without, but that is how it came. They seemed to work just fine - I just don't like them. I did keep the rear bed step though, love that thing.

last week i had a choice of a blueprint plat w/o the AQ+RB factory options instead of keeping our current choice of AQ+RB. but trying to get go rhino boards installed up here was going to run almost 1/2 to 2/3 the cost of the automatic boards (i dont have a location to install them and im too old for that crap since we have plenty of snow and cold temps to do them in my garage/driveway).

anyway the wife doesnt want to wait for boards/steps since she has bad knees and is waiting for maybe knee replacement next year probably.

sadly i had to compromise currently (she was tired of waiting) and hopefully 4-5 yrs down the road we can get one in a better blue shade (i know they will swap out the blueprint for a better blue) and with the options and add-ons we want from the get go.

Out of curiosity, why would someone pay cash for a truck when the interest rates are 2.9% from Toyota and can/could be had for ~2% from some other lenders? Even with a potential soft market just about anyone should be able to beat those interest rates with investments.

Soooo.....how is paying cash a flex?
