After seeing how well plastidop took to the decals. Has anyone ever applied Plastidip to their chrome bumpers?

Im interested to see if it will work on bumper (rear) and on my grill. I have a black Tundra limited and Im really wanting to black it out.

I just plastidipped the front and rear bumper of the truck and washed it last night. One dime sized area is getting loose, but I suspect it was because of improper application. Just make sure to clean all surfaces well and fully mask off the entire non-dipped area. I think it makes the truck look a lot better, but I also think I have something against chrome.

I was in the same place as you, after seeing how well the plasti dip worked on the emblems I decided to do the rear bumper. I plasti dipped the bumper about 6 months ago and it is holding up great. Couldn't be happier with how it turned out.

here's the photo i posted over in the other thread, but it shows the grill surround and bumper. Very simple and cheap, but I feel like it adds a good look to the truck.

Did mine a year ago. Holding up well. Just noticed a small spot scraped off. Easy fix. Prep is everything and lots of light coats.

Yeah. I've heard it's pretty quick to do, spend more time taping things off than actually applying the dip.

I will say from experience with plasta dip, it works and looks good if you do it right. I put 7 coats on my front and rear bumpers. It's held up pretty well , but it's getting tiresome, same thing with rims and grill. Gonna bullet line my bumpers to match my grill and step tubes.

Spent about an hour cleaning the bumper and taping it off. I was doing chores around the house and gave it a light coat whenever I went by. Waited 20-30 min between. So not a lot of time but stretched it out most of the afternoon.
