It’s getting warm here and I’m contemplating doing this to my wheels. How have they held up so far?

well, after two years it was finally time to peel the plastidip off. Overall, i think they heald up really well. There was a little bit of peeling on the edges, but nothing crazy.

I had TVD Vinyl overlays sitting on the work bench for the last year or so, so it was time to give it a freshening up.

It took about 1-1.5hrs per wheel. The plastidip peeled off easily, except for inside the barrels. It just wouldn't come off. Luckily i had ordered some Xylene (you cant get it in stores in CA, but found a 3rd party reseller on Amazon) and that stuff immediately dissolves plastidip. I poured some on a rag and a little wiping and it was gone. I ended up doing a second pass with a fresh rag and Xylene to get any last residue off. Overall it wasn't perfect but good enough for me.

    Medicineman and RobertD like this.
