I will more than likely keep it. The issue is minor, it's just a matter of Toyota not sending parts to dealerships in a timely manner, no matter what the issue. Best case scenario, this is the only issue, worse case I have another issue and I decide to sell it for more than I paid. No matter what, I shouldn't lose money.

With the price of gasoline as it is maybe emulating a cash register drawer opening would be more fitting. CaChing!

When I was 5 or 6 years old I would make fake truck sounds while pushing my Hotwheels around on a fake city mat. Then I grew up.

Growing up just means your toys are more expensive. Now fake engine sounds are effortless.

When I was a kid, me and my friends I used to put playing cards in our bicycle spokes when we wanted our bikes to sound like a motorcycle.

Doing this in a truck is fucking lame.

If you dont make engine noises when pushing a shopping cart, we cant be friends. Rev bombs while waiting for people to move are always appreciated.

Thirty years ago I saw a kid at a birthday party yell “Double Speed” as he took off running!!!:) I am sure it made him run faster. I never laughed so hard and to this day I get a chuckle out of it!!

I wonder if I yell Double Speed and step on the gas if I would achieve Super Charged power!!!:)

It’s odd the turbos take so long. It took a week to get a complete rear differential in for my truck. My guess is the turbos take longer do to not having reliable parts yet.

Not to side track the thread, but I'm not even waiting on a turbo. The AC didn't work. I was told I had what is essentially a bad screw in a hose clamp.....that's it!!

Right?! Like the truck is growing on me and I hope it becomes an industry leader. But seriously!? I thought this was not true. So it sounds good to me but no one else? How lame and delusional. If it is fast and a good motor, who cares? A V8 sounds great but what makes it good is that you step on the gas and can really feel it. That's what matters

Ford has been piping fake engine noise into their trucks for quite a while. I believe it is the Lariat and above editions.

Well, two main issues 1) warranty voided when I do my own work 2) if the part was readily accessible, they wouldn't be waiting 30 days for it. Sounds great in theory though.

I have a 2022 Tundra Limited. Here's the deal with the fake engine noise:
YES- 2022 Tundra's, Limited trim and higher, with JBL sound systems come with fake engine noise piped over the speakers.
YES- The dealer can turn it off. My local dealer turned it off for me.
YES- The engine sounds fine without the fake engine noise. To me, it was totally unnecessary in the first place.

In addition, I also experienced the wind noise that I'm sure you've read about in other posts. On my vehicle it was in the top rear corner of the passenger side rear window. My dealer was also able to fix this issue by putting some backing behind the weather strip. If you have this issue, don't take no for an answer. Have your dealer address it.

Even with these two minor issues, I'm totally enjoying my new Tundra.

Yeah I'm not sure why this is surprising to anyone. My BMW 10 years ago did this, and we all complained about it back then too but it's kinda normal for a lot of vehicles now, either because cars are isolated well enough that you can barely hear the engine or for lame "cool" factor.

If you actually want to hear fake engine noises, get one of these:

I bet 99% of Tundra owners have no clue the engine sound is augmented, nor do they care that everyone in this thread cares so much

TBH though, the reason I love my 2014 Ecoboost is because I can be pulling my travel trailer up a 7% grade at 8000’ doing 70 mph and its only spinning 3000 rpm making a quiet hum. Not screaming away at 5000 rpm like some NA V8. I am sure the 2022 tundra is the same and would prefer it be as quiet as possible so I would probably turn the sound off.

Who the hell is fake noise intended for though? What moronic group of people did they test it on and they said that sounds awesome? If you're into cars you think it's retarded, and if you're oblivious like most people then you probably don't notice if its there or not, or you think it's annoying because you don't want to hear the exhaust anyways. There must be a third camp I don't comprehend that aren't part of "good sounding exhaust" and "want a quiet ride".

Just minor stuff. For example, Undercover bed cover, Tufskinz custom door sill protectors, and TRD air filters.
I don’t understand why Toyota didn’t make this a customizable option like the back seat reminder or something. That way you can turn it off or on at your own will. Hope they update the firm/software to give us the choice instead of bothering a Dealer to turn it off. I’d rather hear the real thing, even if not a V8. The turbos should provide good sound, especially withTRD air filters.
