Bad karma! Apparently high altitude messes with the fuel gauge! The low fuel light coming on actually means no mo fuel!

 

Shoshone Falls in Idaho?

Nice! I thought it looked familiar. I spent a couple years up in that area working for the BLM. We're headed that way in ten days for vacation.

It really is. If you get a chance you should check out Redfish lake up by Stanley.

 

Ok, I’ll look into that! Last month I went to Massacre Rocks and didn’t get any bites but it’s an awesome place!

 

I've never been there, but I've heard it's nice. There are a few other lakes around Stanley if you make it up there, but Redfish is one of the prettiest mountain lakes I've seen. Hopefully it's not too busy this time of year.

The fishing around Carey Idaho is really good too.

 

Yeah, it looks to be about two or so hours from where I am. But if not this time I’ll put it on the list to check out!

 

also, how does your tundra do on the 37's with factory gears so far?

 

As you can see from previous post I took the Tacoma here this weekend and have been enjoying the better gas mileage!
Last month the Tundra did great, on the way here was smooth, took Hwy. 93 N and then the 15 goin back to SoCal, it was then I felt it hunting for gears!
Ugghh!

 

Been trying to upload a video of the falls to YouTube, maybe I need wifi. Once it’s up I’ll post.
And the falls are not even at full blast; I’ve been told you can’t even see the rocks when the water goes over the edge.

 

Gear hunting gets old. My old Tacoma had 37's with 4.88's and wasn't bad, but still sucked to drive interstate speeds. The new tundra that I was "not going to modify" is now waiting on new suspension and I have 37's sitting in the garage haha. I was going to try to wait on gears, but the tundra power is nice to have and I don't want to lose it. Did you have a huge change in acceleration, or was it not too bad except for the gear hunting?

 

@Pinay I’m so jelly... all these fishy places u going to and my poles are up in the rafters. I got to get up that way. Montana is one place that has been on my lost for a loooonnnggg time

 

Yeah, it was actually subtle for the most part. I noticed it most goin up a slight hill on the fwy, rpms all over and slow response.

 

Ok cool. I live in a pretty mountainous area so the gears will probably come sooner. Thanks have fun in Idaho, happy fishing!

 

Imma head to Montana one of these days!! Wyoming too, both close to here.

You goin to SanG run? I’m goin up a day early, hoping to fish where you were for the Crab Flats run last year.

 

That’s the plan to make it, if everything is safe especially with my kids. I have the camp spot for Friday-Sunday. So if everything goes well I’ll probably go fishing also.

 

I’ll be up Thursday and catch all the fish before you get on the mountain
