RB20s mounted reversed...

 

RB20 running board info.... I got backed in to by a Toyota Corolla. He hit me square in the running board!!! Since the RB 20's is tapered, the larger part being inline with the drivers side door, it took the impact, not touching my door. But, he bent the front bracket and pushed the running board just under my rocker panel. Another thing, the way RB20's mount to the bracket, they actually will "slide" when hit from the side. I loosened the bolts and straighten the bracket, then re-aligned the r-board. These boards stick out so much, it's a good thing!!!

 

Installed RB20s along with Lomax tonneau Friday, great products, very impressed.

 

Nfab side steps. So far so good, really like them.

 

These are among the best looking steps but I'm not a fan of the "TYGER" logo and lone stars. If they'd get rid of that named logo, they'd be pretty much perfect.

 

Yeah tyger has potential if they got rid of their cheesy emblem

I have those too, from Amazon. Unfortunately, the aluminum is corroding and the paint is peeling off after less than 2 years. When you start to see it bubble, you know it's coming. The brackets also rusted quickly. I plan to strip mine down and paint them.

Well, it's now been about a year and a half since I put the RB20s on, and I am still very happy with them. No sign of any issues; they still feel solid when I step on them, stick out just the right amount (as others here have mentioned) and are a good match aesthetically. And for you chrome delete types, no chrome LOL.

thanks for this info these look great. I am between these and another couple but want something that tucks in close. did you find a supplier who shipped with the IC brackets or did you have to order the IC Brackets part #92-718 separately?

I ordered the IC brackets directly from IC. If I would have known that other suppliers ship other brackets I would have just ordered everything directly from IC initially.

 

Thanks for the info! I was between these and the RC DS2. Found someone selling new local via FB discounted so decided to give them a go. Haven’t installed yet.

 

N-Fab podiums. Like the bars, but a little frustrated with N-Fab. Ordered these for my '21, but the instructions still read for 2007-2016 Double Cab. Yes, I know, nothing much has changed on the truck in several years, but how difficult is it to update a one page set of printed instructions? Similarly, the parts list showed that the kit was supposed to include lock washers. I contacted N-Fab since no lock washers were in with the hardware (just bolts and flat washers). Their reply: "The podium steps come pre-packaged from China. The lock washers you are missing are not supplied by our warehouse. They are not necessary for the product to be attached to the vehicle, so we stopped supplying them in hardware kits."
Both odd and disappointing. Will keep an eye on them to make sure the bolts stay tight. Would be curious if anybody has had issues with steps staying tight without lock washers?

 

Anyone running the RB20 with the added drop step option?

 

White knuckle offroad. They are so clean and imo the strongest in the segment

Easy to mount. The brackets line up pretty well. Some seated against the 1” piece of sheet metal which sticks down, had to torque those down a bit against the sheet metal. The outside chrome piece is flimsy and only supported at the top. Mounting boards to brackets is a rail system in the boards which holds the bolt heads. Works well. Overall nice for the price but I’m sure I will rip the chrome piece off in just mud.

 

Ordering some RB20’s for my truck right now.

 

N Fab have worked well for me. No way I'm going to need the rock slider option. I'm more a dirt road guy.

 

I really like the STX300s for the same reasons you do and I like the Linex look.

But the one I see on the STX Site have rubber on top.

Do you have to remove the rubber to have them Linex’d?

 

Westcott Designs rock sliders in dom tube/tig welded with top plates. Do these count? lol

 

Does the step feel solid on the Go Rhino RB22?

 

Do you mean RB20? If yes they are very solid.
