Lots and lots of stories, funny, sad, crazy and interesting stories. I've been lucky to last 15 years in the ER, I don't plan on moving on any time soon. I still enjoy what I do, and I will do it as long as I physically and mentally can. The key is to leave work at work, I have for the most part been able to avoid bringing work home with me.

Definitely the key for me as well. The mental separation between work and home is so important. I've seen too many vets burn out from the mental stress. They made their profession their life. It's fine to love your job, and I really love mine. But at the end of the day, it's still just a job. It's not my life.

And, apparently I can't add. I've been a vet for 16 years, not 19. The old brain synapses ain't what they used to be.o_O

I retired from that job but, it was working under asphalt emulsion trucks. The ones with a burner that heat up the oil and spray the ground before they lay the hot asphalt. When a hose blows you have to “gear up” in a suit, hat, gloves, eye protection and shoe covers. That emulsion drips off those trucks all over you. Almost like a tar pit under there.

I cannot take pictures at work (company policy), but if I could all I'd have are a few photos of the douche nuggets I have to work with.

You guys and gals that work in and around the areas in the photos above are Rock Stars!

Our kitchen is hot. We have conditioned make up air. It was working last week....... FYI, we think that dates to opening of location 2003.
Edit- that is the inside of the make up air grill on the exhaust hood
