Contact Leupold Customer Service and explain what happened. Maybe they can dress it up a bit and make it look new or maybe if real lucky......a replacement.

Dislike. I dont know about you and your situation, but where I come from guns arent just a hobby or collectors item to be stored in a lock box.

When shit hits the fan, there won't be police around to protect you. They'll show up and write a report. As for me and mine, I'm ready to defend my family at all times. That means my guns are loaded and available. Guns are replaceable. My family is not.

They were locked up in a very large safe that is called a house. This bullshit about needing to keep guns locked in a safe is horse shit and having them on your property or in a vehicle, locked or not, is secure enough. This "don't blame the thief for being a thief" attitude is the problem with this world.

I am not getting into the whole safe no safe thing, fact is my house is just that my house, stay the fuck out. Don't well then guess what I will come after you, I did go after him, caught him, held him watched as he was arrested, got my shit back, some of it damaged but its back, and he is in the county jail with a $100,000.00 bond and a no contact order in case he does get out.
    I am not worried

His buddies even brought over more of my property yesterday, I pissed on them, showed my dominace, otherwise I doubt things would have gone the way they did. I do not back down from a fight, I had had my ass handed to me, but have also handed a few asses back to others as well.

    Rich, that really sucks man.

I can’t remember if you have my digits, but if you need someone to chat with, I’m here.

One of my girlfriends co-workers has a similar break in and 12 guns were taken and other valuables. They were in a safe. Most safes are 10 gauge metal, and have rather easy access from dumping it over and using a 6-8” cut off wheel. It can be done in minutes. So unless you dump 5-7k on a really good safe, weld in 1/4” plate on the inside, or have a concrete vault with a huge door, some of the pompous assholes that talk about safes are not much better off than you are now. The only advantage is keeping their guns out of kids hands and fire protection. That’s it. Since you don’t have kids....

This co-worker of my wife struggled with this for a while mentally...so it’s good your talking about it. It helps.

    Really? Ya think?

Here’s a little education for you. Safes are good for important papers, bout it.

Yup, better yet get me a 1/2in cordless drill, and cordless jig saw, drill 4 holes in sides or top, use jig saw to cut hole to hole, bam I am in. Safes have a place no doubt but they are not the cure all, unless you are going armored on all sides in addition to the door. That's going to costs some $$$$ tho.

Yeah that bra looked like a safe cracker fo sho.
I guess I should empty all 3 plus of my safes and leave the contents under beds .I know I'll feel secure..
And if they had 9 hours inside your house , it's time for a security system.

They could have had up to 9 hours in my place. You see I work and my time on the job is 9 hours a day. Then there is the 15 minute at best one way drive time to my house and what would a alarm system have done. I called 911 twice. Each time that day I was told no units available. Handle it till we get there. Unknown eta

It was at least 30 minutes and in that time they could have done a lot.

Either way safe no safe alarm no alarm they broke the law by breaking into my locked house.

I guess you totally missed the whole point, which isn’t surprising.

The whole point was not being a dick about his bad situation. You don’t even have to say anything. What a novel idea. Since you seem to need to comment, how about “that sucks man.”

If someone wants in your house and take your shit, it’s going to happen. I know a few that do it professionally, regardless of security systems. Most homeowners circumvent their own system without even knowing. Like taking candy from a baby.

Woh, I didn't know we had an actual bad ass here. I'm impressed with all you know. I stand corrected. And I'd like to see someone , even a criminal with the skill and knowledge you possess try and get in my house let alone take a shit inside it. You'd better like the way your shit tastes.
    Thanks , I'm out.
