If it’s a v6 you can do that conversion <48 hr w junkyard parts. V8 4Runner transmissions are dirt cheap (6-800) online but your issue would be finding a donor vehicle for everything else… I haven’t seen anyone keep the 2.7 if that’s what you have in there but then again, haven’t been looking for that

Flew from Long Beach to Denver to pick this up! 2006 Double Cab TRD Offroad with 4x4... 180k miles and well maintained! First pics in the desert was when I bought the truck, on the trip home. Second pic is today after swapping over my 255/80/17s w/ Level 8 MK6 (zero offset) wheels from my Tacoma. By the way... I had a 2006 DCLB tacoma that I loved... but 2wd was getting old and so was the interior space with family of four. Super stoked on this one so far...

I think the 255 size is pretty darn good on the 1st gen tundras! hardly notice any difference in power and braking compared to the 265/75/16s that were on it before. If anyone is curious.... Toyo Open Country AT3s only weigh in around 51lbs. Not bad for an all terrain 33"

Edit: not stock wheels or suspension

Looks good! TRD caps are a nice add-on for the L8 wheels you got there!

Hah nope got this thread mixed up with another 255 thread. Whoopsies!

Mine has a small lift and I just swapped wheels yesterday. But I'll just leave it since it's already in the world.

Never even thought of considering 255's instead of 285', but I've been seeing a lot of talk about them and it's got me thinking...

Hopefully youre still around. Can you give more info regarding your suspension setup. I understand they are OME however, can you provide the coil number or tube number? Thanks! Great looking truck!

Great looking rig. I'm curious what's the width of those wheels. The sidewall looks good for that size. I don't see any stretching. I ask because I picked up a set of SCS Ray 10 17x8.5. I'm hoping I cant get anyway with running a 255/80/17. Most manufactures recommend between 7-8.5 wheels.

Yeah I think they are 8" wide but I'm not super sure.
