had a little project yesterday afternoon. modern dance company that i work with quite a bit. first shoot post day job. felt totally different. better. to me, the images reflect that but, i am my own worst critic.

 

Good job ! If only I could be so creative . . .

 

drove up to brainard last night to check out the geminids. pretty good show. freezing my ass off so i didn't stay much past midnight.

Just have to say that some of you are incredibly talented with the shots you have. I have been taking photos for years from travels, all for personal memories and hope to one day to be half as talented as some of you guys. For me it has always been take hundreds or thousands of photos and then look for the one amazing shot you can find when you do get that good one.

Maybe a little late to the party but with the price drops I decided to finally pick up a D850. Took her out to front yard for some testing and even got a Tundra in front of the lens for a second!

that made me go dig these up. old film scans. 2004. off the jetty. not the best frames but i had just started water shooting then. i was trying to convince surfer to accept b&w film. i did finally manage to get them to take a few but only after i reversed processed from a negative to a positive.

i do miss shooting in the water.

 

Ahhh, those are super rad! I always love things shot from the water...I always have wanted to try it...but the best I’ve ever been able to do is shoot from the shore.

i have to say, after all these years, it's still both weird and a thrill to see my work get used in print. pretty stoked on how this came out.
