I was in Milwaukee all last week. I've spent quite a bit of time there but the city eludes me. I'm never sure how to take or what to look for. I've watched it decline for many years, there is still vast amounts of empty space in downtown, but last week was the first where it seemed to have some new life. After being locked in a windowless conference room for 9 hours a day, my relief came in wandering the streets in the evening.

 

Last night, the Richthofen Castle down the street opened their grounds for their annual Halloween bash for the neighborhood. They do not disappoint. The place has huge history (mostly dark like the rest of the neighborhood) and it's fun to see the progression of the rehab.













The rest of the neighborhood goes all out too. City comes in and closes most of the streets for Halloween night and it's usually quite the party.

 

I'm digging the second one, and anything in black and white. Thanks for sharing.

 

Ballet studio had a Halloween bash this evening. I made some portraits. The skeleton got a little frisky with my wife. We had words. Since he's already dead, it didn't really matter. Made me feel better though.

Alright, figured I'd make a contribution. I shoot mainly fine art landscape and wildlife. This is shot from Ouray National Wildlife Refuge near where I live in Utah.

Its worth it, I'm just a wanna-be photog, and its a great pic everywhere.Then there is the eve desert shots, its really hard for me trying to squeeze in all the shots i want, with out beiing left behind as my wife gets fed up and drives away, hehehe

Red Chilis...food of the Gods. We ate Mexican B-L-D...not only is it a major staple in everyone diet, but it has medicinal properties and its used as currency in the barter system, and it makes beautiful artwork.

Very cool pic! I need to make my way back to SPI sometime this month and go down to the beach at night and take pics of the moon rise over the water. It's so amazing!!

 

Thanks Angel, often all i have left of the day is at night, so evening shots have become a do or do without. I'm fortunate to live at the lake and don't have to go too far for a nice shot.

Heres a sunset that turned out pretty nice i thought, i really like the sunflowers on the right side, i did not see them until after i looked at the picture, a happy accident.

 

Houston wanderings. Evening commuters. Downtown traffic.





Stacked Burgers. Picked up a Bahn Mi sandwich. Sat outside, admired the graffiti art and watched the traffic go by. Cell phones always on and ever present. Small breaks in conversation while they grabbed their latest feed updates or snapped a selfie.





Sun down and darkness envelopes the city.
