Where in SoCal was your studio? There is a guy in Coronado that I used to love to go into his studio when I was out there visiting my son. Dan McGeorge. Had gone pretty much all digital, but I really liked his stuff. Picked up a couple of nice prints last time out there.

    DO IT!

we were in solana beach, a couple of miles north of the race track. i'm not familiar with dan's work but i very rarely went down that way unless the swell was just right.

i've been on a 50/50 split of film and digital for years. these days i stick with film for just my personal projects. occasionally, i'll mix the two for portraits. i'm starting to get back into it with the studio setups but it's a process and it takes patience for the person who's sitting for me. platon is my big inspiration for that.

go look for the show 'abstract' on netflix. they devoted an entire episode to him. i've followed his work for a very long time so it was great to actually watch him in action.

Netflix. Heck I am still on dial up:anonymous:. But I will have access to it in a couple of weeks and will check it out. Photography was always something I wish I had pursued.

Decided the apartment needed something on the walls. Ordered a 12x40 canvas print of this - taken outside of Moab, UT.

More power to them. If only we could get our politicians salaries to that of a teacher. I bet they would get a raise then. My wife taught for a number of years. Not for the money but the love for the children.

here are a few images from yesterday down at the capitol. if you're interested, you can take a look at the full gallery: http://www.slavin-studios.com/red-for-ed-gallery

i spoke with teachers who had come from greeley, grand junction and pueblo. i also spoke with a group of guys who had come from the united brotherhood of carpenters. one of them had come up all the way from corona. yes, southern california. they definitely knew how to throw a rally cry.

i was also pleasantly surprised at the number of kids there. young kids supporting their parents and their teachers.

i leave no political message with these. take from them what you will. i am just a documentarian.

I have always appreciated great pics. Novice here, have always had a knack for getting some good ones IMO, lean toward landscapes and water pics. Posted two back at #241.

Not very organized, mostly on digital camera or phone......
