PEX vs copper

    Will copper last longer than pex- sure, ok.

    Not sure what the several people and their leaks has to do with the discussion? I mean no context or subjective information is provided.

    Guess what- I have personally fixed several people’s copper leaks. How you ask- poor installs.

    Both copper crimps and copper soldered. Poor install practices, poor workmanship, and cheap products.

    Europe has used pex for a long time. Buy good stuff, install per manufacturer recommendations and enjoy a leak-free connection.

    I assume you are talking about solder and not crimp. I will tell you this- gas companies are replacing natural gas lines in NJ with a pex- style tubing.

    Most new construction I see is pex. It is the future. Copper will always be around but copper crimp will slowly start converting the pros.
