Right. Nobody wants to hear that tho. There's got to be a quick fix / pill - and there are several. All of the TRT places in Tucson lasted about a year before they went bust. Insurance scam.

Once you start your body may decrease its own testosterone levels. But if it's low anyway it probably won't hurt to just stay on it
Not sure what kind of therapy you used. Back in college when I did power lifting I did some "replacement therapy"... not recommended. My muscles grew faster that my connective tissue could keep up and I destroyed my back, and have issues to this day because of it.
If your natural levels aren't low, then it's a bad idea. If a Dr prescribes therapy it could be covered by insurance. There is also prescription gels and patches available.

There are some ways to increase testosterone levels, such as diet and exercise. For some guys it just doesn't work. Over use of testosterone can cause side effects such as shrunken nuts, man boobs, roid rage, even certain cancers. Those are mostly from abuse, not proper use.
Personally I'd recommend trying it for 3-6 months and see how you feel. Eventually we will all have low T, at a certain age it doesn't matter, but at 45 it does, or would to me.

I’ll be 47 in June. I workout 5 days a week, have a decent diet, but would terrify a dietician. Testosterone of a 30 year old, only problem at this point, kinda pain in the ass for the wife... Of course there are issues that are unavoidable, but if your body is telling you it’s not happy, immediately change.

A lot of TRT clinics were trying to illegally prescribe testosterone and other steroids for men who didn't need it, and charged insurance for the drugs. Insurance fraud yes, basically falsely diagnosing guys who wanted to get huge and ripped with low T. Tried being "legal" steroid dealers

The best thing is to talk with your doctor and see what advise they have. I'll be the first to admit I felt tired ALL the time, gained weight even though I exercised 3-5 times a week, and was kinda like oh well with the rest. Went to my doc and did a T test. My level was 200. I opted for a 300mg shot every 3 weeks until my level comes back up. Everything seems back to normal (mood, energy, etc). I wish I didn't wait so long but am glad I did something about it.

I did it for probably six months or so a couple of years ago. I had enough testosterone, but not “free” testosterone. Apparently something in my body was blocking it from being used. I don’t remember the science exactly.
Anyway, it worked, big time. I felt amazing. It was also during a period of time when I was working out like crazy. At 40, I was in the best shape of my life. I’d already gotten there before the treatments, but it was difficult recovering from workouts, and hard to be motivated. I was also experiencing severe depression. I was getting my workouts in, but it was getting more difficult by the day. I started slacking off on exercise, and losing progress. I just felt tired all the time, when I had a ton of energy before. Difficult to admit, but there were also intermittent “performance” issues I started experiencing. Just lost my motivation there also.
These issues came up with a few coworkers at lunch one day. It turned out that unbeknownst to me, a few of them had been experiencing the same, and had success with testosterone replacement. I went to a low t center, and was told about the “free” testosterone issue I was having.
I started the therapy. It didn’t happen overnight, but after a few weeks, all of the problems were fixed. I had tons of energy, the depression subsided, my workouts went through the roof, and forget about performance issues. My drive was higher than it was when I was a teenager. That may be the only downside I experienced, if you could even call it a downside. I was ready to go pretty much 24/7.
I ultimately quit going, as having to go there every week was pretty inconvenient. It also cost me $45.00 every week with my copay, so it was and added couple hundred a month I was having to spend. I could afford it, but didn’t want to keep paying.
I didn’t go all the way back to where I was before, but there was a significant drop off. I got lazy again, less motivation, less energy. I’ve been thinking hard lately about going back to it. I’ve put some pounds back on, and though the performances issues haven’t returned, the drive is a lot lower. Injuries are taking longer to heal. I pulled my elbow in January, and still haven’t been able to lift again since then.

Thank you to everyone who shared their story.
I appreciate all the advice both for and against therapy but I’ll share some background.
I think literally for 10 years my levels have been low but not enough to really worry about. However, in the last three years I have been experiencing cognitive issues. Without going into detail it feels like my intelligence has been cut in half. This doesn’t work for me as I’m used to being on top of shit, a leader and trainer at work. It has been the most difficult journey in my life.
So three years ago a set out to find out why? Tons of doctors, neurologists, Endocrinologist you name it. You tell them your symptoms and guess what! You must be depressed!! Here have some antidepressants.
Not satisfied with that answer I trekked in knowing that while that may in fact be the case there was something more going on. Well, after three different blood tests three different times it is confirmed that my T is that low.
So one thing is for sure, antidepressants will NOT raise T and had I just been a puppet I would be walking around in a daze but popping those daily.
I’m also not taking this lightly at all. I know the consequences but I also know that I’m not living and if there is anyone out there like this maybe this will help you get tested.
For the record, this wasn’t some low T clinic. Every doctor I go/have been to are highly regarded in Colorado.
I’m at the point in my journey where life is just to short to do nothing.

You need to get tested my man. Very rarely, especially as you age, do you recover your hormone levels after stopping TRT. By very rarely... I mean basically ever. You are likely actually far lower now than you were before. Your HPTA is shut down and without Tamoxifen, Clomid, or getting back on TRT... it won't end well.

For any of you interested in knowing your testosterone level, but don't want to break the bank, this is a good test. They also have the "Mens" version which includes more, but its more expensive.
Ignore the "Female" label on this test. For $66, you can get stuff tested without going to the Dr. Its performed at a local Labcorp or similar.

Man, I would seriously look at your diet, exercise, sleep and stress before going down the replacement T path. Get your wife to give you nookie more often.

take cold showers daily, eat more red meat, lift heavy, get at least 7-8 hours of sleep a night, healthy oils, get outside more (vitamin D), get active., keep body fat levels between 10-17%

research has shown the biggest contributor to low T's are lack of sleep, and excess body fat as well as sedentary lifestyles and stress.

A couple buddies of mine are taking T at 35-38. I wouldn't want to do that, so I make sure my daily habits support my T levels.
