Install a set of Wet Okoles over them, and call it good... that extra layer of padding is very comfortable.

    Hmmm...

My 2019 SR5 has lumbar support..

Either they have broken in or I have... a little anyways..!

Been ~2 months but 3000 miles of driving with some 500 miles trips in there.

Still a bit stiff but not a big deal any more...

Just bought a 2017 Limited and have the same back issues. I popped on the forums and was thinking about doing the same thing as you suggested. After removing the lumbar support how's is the integrity of the back of the seat? I wasn't sure if you had to add anything after a while. Also, did you have to pull your seat out or did you just shimmy the material out of the way so you could get to the side zippers?

Hey man, have not had any issues with seat integrity so far and it’s been almost 2 years since I did this mod. It still has support rails so it won’t sag. I just simply unzipped the seat and pulled back the leather until I could reach it. Hope that helps.

The mod worked out perfect. Removing the support made an instant difference. All the connectors to the wires weren't easy to remove so I only had to disconnect the one on the right side and then shimmied the support out. All is well and I am back pain free! Thank you.

Can someone please tell me how to remove the seat back cover enough to take out the lumbar adjustment? For the life of me, I can't seem to figure out how to get the damn seat back cover off.

I have the same issue with my back in my CM

I watched a video from a professional fisherman. He drives 30k miles in his tundra every year and suggested to buy a foam seat from Amazon. At first I laughed at the idea and then drove a long road trip and could hardly walk.

I bought a $15 one from Amazon and it’s absolutely made a HUGE difference.

So I FINALLY got the lumbar adjustment removed and the seat all put back together. Was a major pain in the ass. Might be easier on cloth seats, IDK. Mine's a Platinum and it was a bear. That having been said, the seat seems to feel a lot better without the lumbar support.

The only thing left that I wish I had was some sort of left armrest. The door armrest is just too far over to be able to comfortably hold the wheel and rest my elbow. Might try to see if I could attach some sort of armrest or arm shelf to the door to basically extend (and raise) the armrest in toward my body.

I have a mid sized cylindrical pillow about 8" diameter and 15" long, get in, throw pillow in the gap and roll. Stop, move pillow, get out, leave pillow on the seat. Only use it if going for a distance otherwise it goes in back on the sofa.

How many hours at any given time? I have driven 1000 miles a day a few times, but the last 200 damn near killed me each time and that was just about wide open throttle all day so the duration of time was about 11-12 hrs each day. The seats in my truck are the worst of any vehicle I ever owned. Now I drive with a gel cushion and move it around to different positions about every 150 miles if going any significant distance. Still not recovered from my first trip with the damn horrible seats, actually had to buy crutches the following day because I had difficulty walking.

    Too many, but not enough....
This isnt exactly what you are talking about, but it addressed my general gripe about the tundras seating position in particular. It always felt sloped forward with my manual seats and I would feel it in my lower back. I put the seat jackers on from desert does it and it made an incredible difference. You may want to look into it, they have a good return policy and it's easy to install.

I usually stop and stretch every few hours and for fuel and food. Everyone is different I guess.
I drove an F-350 cross country once - King Ranch with the saddle leather seat. That damn thing was killing me after 3 hours.

I haven't seen them anywhere except their own website.
They are a little pricy but well worth it for my particular situation.
Totally changed the feel of my seats and made them much more comfortable.

After a long day of driving, you had to purchase crutches in order to ambulate?

    Am I reading this correctly?

I had a 2017 4Runner TRD Off Road with the beautiful black softex pleather with red stitching. The seat were beautiful, but hard as a rock. Even after 2 1/2 years, hard as a rock. I'm a lot happier with the SR5 buckets in my new to me 2017 Tundra.

Yep, that is correct. Might have been due to a recent vaccine for the virus as well. But, that trip was over two months ago and if I sit in the truck for a couple of hours now the discomfort comes back around really fast. Never had this problem with over twenty other vehicles in my life, and I have driven several times from Oklahoma City to central Florida, Las Vegas, Rapid City South Dakota, and Minneapolis straight through. Only thing I can figure is something about the seats and my body just don't jive. For now pillow it is on any trips. With airbags, it is a bit complicated to swap seats. On top of that my truck is a trail edition with special unique color upholstery.
