Way off topic for our tundra forum, but my tundra is running and looking great so I don’t need info for it, lol.

considering a Peloton bike. I work out daily, when it’s not too cold out I cycle too. It’s cold up here right now so getting cardio in (other then clearing snow) is hard unless I want to get on a machine at the gym which I don’t enjoy so much.

I want to continue to hit the weights regularly but thought about adding a peloton bike for my cardio. I tend to jump into stuff with both feet and can see myself riding one or even two times a day if I like it.

anybody use peloton and if so do you have any advice?

    much appreciated!

Looks awesome to me....expensive and like the jelly of the month club, the gift that keeps on giving.

Don’t have the bike, but use the app with my old Startrac spin bike. I like the on demand classes. They make me push harder than riding just to my own music. Im sure it’s even better with the peloton bike.

About to go ride right now actually...

Make sure there is enough room for your personal carpenter to fabricate a custom teak-wood and epoxy inlay river style platform in your atrium for said stationary bike.

I use the Peloton. Almost every day since I'm training for a 50 mile mtb race in March. I like it because it's engaging and not like Trainer Road and staring at a graph for an hour. If you can afford it and actually commit to using it, it's a great conditioning tool.

I just bought a stationary bike off Amazon for 400 or so....you can youtube bike classes. Peloton was a few grand plus you have to subscribe....I also have a road bike that I put on a stand on occasion.

I was considering marble for the bike platform, lol. Yep I get it’s expensive, and that’s why I’m reaching out to my people.

How is the quality of the bike? I too have ridden in some races (road though not mountain) sounds like it’s working for you and thanks for the info!

What are they going for? Haven’t heard much about them but see the vans all the time.

concept brand rower can be had for around a grand.

My wife goes to Cycle Bar. They use Schwinn A.C. Performance Plus with Carbon Blue. She would rather spend the money on a indoor bike than keep going to Cycle Bar. She was looking at the Peleton and the Nordic Track S22i Studio Cycle. iFit is horrible so we didn't go with the Nordic Track. Peloton is spendy and their training program is also spendy. She didn't want any hook ups to an app to train with. We bought the Keiser M3i. It arrived yesterday and I set it up with the Bkool app to try out.

Love rowers too, but have been lifting a lot and like to cycle or run for cardio. You can get the bike delivered and set up for about $2400. But there is a monthly fee of $40 for the classes, so it adds up fast.

The quality is solid. no complaints. It's heavy I couldn't lift it myself and I'm a Clydesdale at 200 pounds.

I have a Peloton bike and absolutely love it. No need to place on hard floor whatsoever...I have mine on a carpeted floor and the bike is so sturdy that it doesn't move a bit. I bought mine paying with Affirm. $70/per month 0% interest...I figured why not if its free to borrow the money?? The subscription is not expensive and you don't really need it if you don't want the live classes. I wasn't exercising at all and this actually motivated me to get doing something. 4 months...A1C down in the normal range and off 2 of the 3 Type 2 diabetes meds I was prescribed every month. Good Luck.

Peloton is nice. The price of the bike and the subscription is just another motivator to get on the bike. The only issues that I’ve seen users complain about is that the shoes squeak and the pedals sometimes break off usually resulting in nasty gashes on the legs especially if you’re out of the saddle. Delivery can also sometimes can be an issue if peloton sends a 3rd party crew to deliver and install. If you have a nice road bike another alternative would be Zwift simulator. I know a lot of bikers that train with zwift and love it.

The first time I saw one of your comments, I wasn't sure if I liked it.

Have to say, they're routinely good.

I’ve been considering getting one myself. I do a shit ton of cycling on my road bike in the warmer months but I don’t fool with it when the temps drop below 55ish degrees. Winter in Alabama is harsh.
a friend of mine up north that cycles a lot too got one used a lot cheaper and he absolutely loves it.
Used ones online around here for $1,200 - $1,800 periodically. I tried for the $1,200 one but it sold the same day. I’m waiting another month or so for the people that jumped into it as a New Years resolution decide to sell theirs.

I bought a Schwinn upright a few years ago for $200. Went on it for 45 minutes a day for who knows how long but I went from 190 lbs to 150 lbs. Didn't need any fancy bikes or classes. It's all mental.

I use Zwift and love it. I also ride road and tri bikes(occasionally) and the programs it has for different training levels and goals is pretty awesome. Granted you are not looking at any Peloton classes live but you can always check some out on YouTube and go from there for extra inspiration.

That was Government Canyon State Nature area on the west side of San Antonio. I also rode Flat Rock Ranch and Leon Creek. Didn't make Spider Mountain this trip.
