The leadership and advisors of Pelfreybilt are in active discussions with potential investors to secure funding for the near future to continue business operations. Our intention is to "right the ship" within the next 45 days and begin taking new contracts to build cash flow; however, these plans are entirely contingent on the outcome of these discussions. We will release another statement after the Labor Day weekend when we have a clearer picture of the negotiations.

    Thank you for your patience.

It sucks you have to deal with investors. Hope you stay as great as you are now. Love supporting a family business.

It really does suck - but could you imagine putting the equity of your house(s) on the line for your business (or all your assets)? One small F up and you could lose everything you’ve worked your entire life for.
Thankfully I’ve only had to do that with equity lines of credit (business) we never use (they are there only in case SHTF and to build credit).
    It’s tough out there.
    Good luck Pelfreybilt.

Damn.. I never knew it got to this point @pelfreybilt. I mean, I heard some rumors but I brushed them off because it always seemed like you guys were going to the moon with the business. I hope it all works out, Satin/Tyler.

Same, here. Best of luck. I hate to get political, but I can't help but think sky-rocketing material costs (i.e., tariffs) have something to do with this.

We lost customers who imported aluminum because of the tariffs - didn’t think about that. Bummer. :-/

This was some sad news to read a moment ago. Had to come on here and see if it was real.

Incase anyone is wondering... they have filed bankruptcy. Anyone who had preorders or orders is out of their money. They then blame their customers for not getting investors, blah blah blah. I knew them personally and I liked it but this is shady.

The emphasis on the fact that the "internet rumors" caused the investors to pull out is interesting.

Yeah... but not true. They have like some 300 peoples money, and laid off all their staff weeks ago. If they actually thought they would get investors why would they do that? And to file bankruptcy they hadn’t to have to see a counselor.. which they did in the 27th. So they knew exactly what they were doing the whole time.

There is a lot more info on tacomeworld, that’s where I’m pulling this from.

Not saying they are bad people, but they made some shady choices.

Before anyone goes crying any tears, Tacomaworld has a very illuminating thread running now.

Yeah. Exactly. Don’t get me wrong, shit happens. But, they knew what was happening and screwed a lot of people out of their money. Me? No. Was I going to get a bumper of theirs? Maybe. So I’m not really a stakeholder in any way, just shedding light to the facts

THE LATEST, GREATEST, NEWEST, GNARLIEST machines and facility does not pay the bills or make up for poor business management. I have been screwed out of money by a company who filed bankruptcy who had the best state of the art facility and it sucks. When companies like this say it was out of their control, i call bullshit.
edit..i have never done business with Pelfreybuilt.

I also find it very interesting they blamed social media and people on social media for investors pulling out.

Anyways, it’s hard to imagine but many many many business that seem to be doing well are mismanaged. Many businesses are operating in the red everyday but you would never know it.

Seems like they are/we’re a great company without the right management.

I can’t even imagine the number of businesses that actually borrow, to operate (payroll, rent, etc).
This is super sad and disappointing for any customer that had a prepaid order placed. Or any hard earned cash that was lost in any way by a consumer. That’s irresponsible as a business owner to shit on your customer base. The Off-road community will remember this, and they will not be welcomed back.
I always feel like my own business is ran on pins and needles - we’re 12 MIL a year, but it takes 11-11.5MIL a year to make that. (We borrow maybe $30-$90K for new equipment to keep our banks happy and credit in check, but that’s not much) .Gov, State, and City over regulation Fing kills us. Business is not easy, but I will never leave a customer high-and-dry. What I worry about most is the 130 employees and their families, which I’m responsible for. I pray I never have to put my assets at risk, if I do - I need a new business model and need to re-evaluate the direction we are headed.

#to accept monies from customers and not deliver, is just plain Fucked up. That’s bullshit. Pelfreybilt should be taking night-jobs and working during the day to crank out units and deliver to those who paid. That’s a responsible normal human being.

And to think just a few months ago I damn near sent them $2400 for F/R Pelfreybilt bumpers. *wipes sweat from forehead*

I feel for everyone dealing with what is a shady company. I fucking called it months ago, I had called pelfreyblit and called their bullshit. I told them either send me my front and rear bumpers (they were 5months+ late) or I was going to hire an attorney to do the dance. I got my product, but I know for a fact they didn't wrapped it or shipped it with care and it showed up damaged. It took another two months for them to give me the info for their insurance to file a claim. im just happy I got what a paid for, but I hope they burn in hell for screwing over so many people.

So I have been on TW pretty much all yesterday/ last night/ and now today on the Pelfreybilt bankruptcy thread. Lots of emotions going on, but it has actually been pretty good overall. Some post deletes but no vacations, which blows my mind.

Same rules apply here, which I probably don't have to state, but:

-No posting of personal addresses or sensitive material involved with this case. This is public record if you are willing to pay for it.

    • If you have an outstanding order with Pelfreybilt, please contact whom you paid with to dispute charges. I have the 600 member list of names on the bankruptcy filing. You can PM me with your full name and I will check for you.
    -Please no threatening behavior posts.

This is a tough thing to deal with, and I personally know someone that is losing more than I paid for my Lexus.

My coworker has a 4Runner and 80 people with 4Runners paid in full for their preorder bumpers not too long ago. 3000+ each person. Not including any other parts they ordered at the same time and nobody received a thing. Took the money and ran. Shady as can be. It’s seems like a typical scam with bankruptcy. People do that type of shady shit with credit debt and houses all the time. Rack up debt and file bankruptcy and keep your shit. Loop holes. Just like not paying taxes for 18 years and saying your smart for it. Not smart. Shady.

Sad to here so many people got hurt. I guess I got my bumper just in time. But they seemed like a class act. Helped me with damage to the PC, and sent me some stickers and bottle opener.

Perhaps there was some other outlying factor that caused them to close shop.

    None, yet....
I just read the whole thread on TacomaWorld. I almost put an order in earlier this year, sure glad I didn’t. Seems like The Pelfreys were some scammers. Damn.

@ColoradoTJ is the plan to boot those guys from the forum? Seems like that was the direction on TW.
