At Pelfreybilt Off-Road we make Stainless Steel, Group 31 Battery Cages for the 05+ Toyota Tacoma, 03+ 4Runner, 08-14 FJ Cruiser and 03-09 Lexus 470. We are considering making the same for the Toyota Tundra and want to know if there would be interest.

This would allow you to mount a larger group 31 battery in the factory location. Gone are the days where dual batteries are a must have! These Group 31 batteries average 1150 CCA and a 205 minute capacity, as well as outperform some dual battery setups, without the dual battery cost and installation. Dual posts allow for easier installation of your aftermarket leads. For people with a large amount of aftermarket accessories, lighting, stereos and winches, these batteries are a must.

    Details:
    - Works with most Group 31 batteries
    - Stainless Steel
    - No drilling or modifications required
    - All hardware included

Post up your thoughts! We will let everyone know if this idea turns into a production item :D

I would definitely consider this. My Odyssey Batteries 34R-PC1500T (https://amzn.to/2wxhnlw) has only died on me once (ie. due to my own error by leaving electrical mods on) but I wouldn't mind going to something bigger without having to run two in the engine bay.

Wood definitely be interested. Even without a need for a bigger battery i can see a huge benefit of this just due to ease of getting the battery in and out

I’m interested also. Been accumulating information on dual set ups and have not yet pulled the trigger because I don’t like any of them completely. This could be that solution I’ve been looking for.

This would definitely be cheaper than the dual battery setup. Lighter weight too! We will keep everyone in the loop

I’m to the point of replacing my factory battery. This would only make sense.

    So yes, I’m interested.

The only thing this might make interesting is, for those of us with a supercharger, moving around some of the coolant hoses that are near the battery location. With group 31 batteries being wider (longer?), they'll stick out past the wheel well shelf and toward the engine more where some of the hoses are. I'm still definitely interested though and would buy a cage early; I can figure out the hoses later.

That is something we will keep in mind. We will make sure it's tested on multiple models so that any clearance issues are addressed appropriately.

I’m not sure how many 12v blender margaritas = 1 dead battery but 2 batteries will double it!
Besides, don’t you already have a dual battery set up?
