Yeah, you're probably right considering all the other positive cases out there. The update making the RPMs go haywire really made me just want it off my truck at that point. I may try it again down the road sometime.

Its not always the case but for some the issue starts when changing settings while driving; the instructions recommend making changes at a halt. There was also some issue with Bluetooth and interference.

Returning mine today. Had the exact same issue's on my 21'. Worked fine for about a week and then started dropping out and surging. On startup would rev high. Tried to do the update, but couldn't perform it because the unit would only power on when the engine was running. Finally took it off last night when I started it and it went to 5000rpms and then dropped back down. Will try it again later when they get the bugs worked out on the 20-21's. Loved it the first week LOL.

Damn that sucks man. I was thinking this would be the reliable way to go. Can anyone chime in that has had one on for awhile and uses it regularly without any problems?

That could cause issues, but I was pretty methodical in my install process. Even made my son take my keys and phone and drive around the block so no chance of either being within reach of the truck while plugging it in. Never changed modes while moving, not even just let off the gas, but I'd stop completely and put it in park. I think the ECU started "learning" after several drive cycles and started messing with the performance of the PC. Who knows? I may give them a shot later, once they've had time to look at the issues and retune their programming.

I'm sorry to hear that. I used my Toyota connect to open the vehicle, it let me skip the ECU shut off phase. Its cool that you are willing to give them another chance. Sprint booster is another option too.

So are y'all still recommending this product? Seems like it has mixed experiences.

Does this automatically start when you start your truck or do you have to manually turn it on everytime?

Automatic. It starts off in the last mode you were in when the truck was shut off.

Following this thread, I ordered one and installed on Wednesday. Got a chance to play around with it a little and I must agree, it's perfoy is significant. After driving around on City 2 for a day flipped over to Sport +4 to test it out. I'm not exactly sure where I could see a reasonable application for this setting. Anyone else have ideas?

Bought a box of 9mm at Academy Monday when they had 4 boxes left, went back yesterday and the shelves were empty. I'm going back Monday to see if they have anything cause $45 for 150 rounds is a good deal.

I just installed and tested my pedal commander. I have a 2018 5.7 cm lifted with 35's. I went with city 4 for first test. It definetly changes the feel of the gas pedal. Its way touchier. Your engines revs higher before shifting because your giving it more gas than normal it feels like. Feels faster. Id like to see 1/8 mile times on stock and different pedal commander modes.

It's for the track. From page 9 of the manual:

I've had mine on for almost a year now and no issues. If you've had a 2nd gen tundra the throttle feels like that on City Mode. On sport mode it feels like your tow haul is on with all your nannies off without doing that whole process.

    I'm also on 35's...

I bought one of these for my 4Runner and it just so happened to be the same model when I upgraded to the Tundra. It was almost a necessity in the 4Runner, but even on one of the lowest settings just felt like overkill in the Tundra and made it have a hard time finding gears, constantly shifting. I ended up selling mine, and just use Sport mode when I need a little extra pep.

Hows the velcro holding up in that spot? I'm thinking of doing mine at the same location, just worried that it slightly curves and isn't really flat.

Been researching the heck out of these since I just found out about there here on the forums yesterday. Love me the Tow/Haul button as it’s free and I seem to hit it every time I turn the car off or on. But I can’t imagine that’s a good long term strategy. However i have 3 calls in to 3 dealers to see what they say.

Would love to have the extra Pep for sure. For $300 would be worth it I believe, as long as there are no longterm effects Which sounds like there is none.

Wonder why so many more people recently talk about pedal commander versus the sprint booster.

1 dealership has called me back and said Tow haul won’t do any damage and will only effect gas mileage (which seems to represent most peoples findings here)

2 dealers down and 2 different answers.....of course.

Just received mine yesterday. Fast shipping.
FWIW, first impression, the packaging is impressive!
After reading all the mixed reviews, it was the talk of the solid customer service that swayed me to give it a try.
Here’s hoping for the pros and none of the cons...
