Well I’m not in it for the gas mileage. I just want the throttle response without putting it into tow haul mode. If I happen to get more mpg that’s cool, but I highly doubt it. Plus I’m on 35s and stock gears for now. But will post results either way.

Totally get it. I’m about to be on 35’s that’s why I was def interested lol. Will for sure be looking to make up the lag too. I plan on gears next spring/summer so will be curious to see how the PC does before and after.

I still believe gears are what’s going to make the most difference, but hopefully this will do till I get my tax return to buy gears. Going back and forth between the 4.88 and 5.29 cause I eventually want to go to 37s but I just slapped on the 35s. So the 37s can wait.

I don’t know. But the one I bought and just installed works fine and really does take less than 5 minutes to install. This little guy actually works. It made a huge difference on how my truck takes off. I tried the sport+ on +4. It just wants to dump gas and go. Probably will never need that setting. City and sport mode is good enough.

What has everyone settled on for a setting as far as good response without killing gas mileage?
Also, what does tow/haul do when this thing is in play? I’ll need a good setting for towing a 3000 pound boat.

Has anyone seen that with their PC over some time, the city 4 doesn't have the jump it used to have like in the beginning? Like the ECU has learned it and has taken the jump out. That. or my foot just learned to avoid the jumpiness. I guess the only way to find out, is to turn it off and see how stock is. To me though, it just looks like the ECU has tamed the jumpiness a bit.

BTW, I went with the old non-bluetooth version as i don't like getting zapped with bluetooth if I don't have to. How many times will you be adjusting after you have played with it the first week? Not much, after you find its sweet spot for your driving. There is no point in freaking bluetooth.

The Bluetooth option seems like too much. I do not need to be on my phone trying to use it while driving. The unit is easily changed via the selector button(s). It is cabled to mount unit within the drivers reach, no phone needed.

I probably paid less for the BT model then what you guys paid for non BT.
I don’t plan to change it while driving but I can open an app an make a change. Huge win IMO since I plan to tuck it away and hide it.
And @tundras00 can you explain how you get zapped by Bluetooth? :notsure:

I paid $259 for my non-BT model, and I'm sure i would have founded lower but liked the 2 day Amazon shipping.

Easy. bluetooth is radiation through the use of microwaves. This is my decision. If you'd like to research more regarding it, there's plenty of material out there. I prefer wired and not wireless given the choice. It is stupid in this regard, as you are wired anyways. It's like using wired ethernet and WIFI at the same time. Different story if you want to keep it clear of wires, but I have aux and phone cable out there so it doesn't really matter to me for an extra cable.

For the record, cell phones AND WIFI rely on the same RF signals. Basically everyone is exposed to these signals.
I’ve been around high voltage for 20 years so I’m probably screwed.

Wired or BT is irrelevant. I’m into tech so I like the idea of having that option but it’s certainly a personal choice.

I’m looking forward to this device. I’ve heard all the arguments against it. Like you can just mash the pedal or use T/H but without question my 17 is sluggish in normal mode. I drove my buddies 07 and it felt like a different truck. For 260 bucks if I can dial in a response that works for me then money well spent!

I have the new gas pedal to install on our 07. Hearing that it smooths out the jumpiness, I may have a gently used aggressive gas pedal assembly for sale very soon......

Interested in hearing more on this. Just upgraded from a '10 Ram 1500 to a '16 Tundra Platinum and my only complaint is the throttle response. Interested in getting the DAP Tune later on down the road, but this might be an affordable intermediate option.

It works, not a tune but a "remapping" of acceleration curves. Easy to use. Mileage benefits, not many reported.

I bought the Bluetooth version so I could zip-tie the box under the dash and not have it stuck to the outside. Plus I can throw it in sport+ when my wife's driving and not looking.

Installed mine two days ago and so far I'm pretty happy with it. Haven't played with all of the settings yet, I've just been in City mode. The +2 setting seems to be a happy medium for me (I'm told I drive like a grandma) as far as get up and go and fuel economy. I've actually seen a 1/2 mpg increase, according to the trip computer. I'm happy enough with it that tonite I took the center console apart and routed it thru and mounted it under the cup holders. It's completely out of site so I'll just use the app to make any changes.

To me the best argument for BT is being able to disable the throttle pedal for security.
