"BFH50" on pedal commanders website for $50 off. Black Friday may bring some other deals other places but that's the latest I've seen.

I could only imagine on 37s and a lift. Which I want to move to larger than stock tires with a lift. But not yet. The wallet is still empty from recent move.

    OP......
Your thread kinda got hijacked but I think this video applies and you'd be interested.
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1EkDzsSqRg4
May be a biased video but it's worth a look. It demo's the throttle body response.

Edit: He says the control adjuster itself can be unplugged (at about 4 minutes) but leave the actual gizmo hooked up to your gas peddle. Thus no controller stuck to your dash if you like your dash stock looking.

I was about to post my concession - that I now would like a Pedal Commander. But then you posted the video and this. I do like the smaller form factor better, and the video explained a lot about how it works. Please post your experience, and if anyone else has this SprintBooster, please post your experiences as well.

I've been following both since I joined. PC is all the rage but I have always lenses towards SB.

If I get one, I'm pretty sure it will be SB. For cost, warranty, build, size and they were the original from what I know .

From everything I have read about on the Pedal Commander, you can't go wrong.
There have been some cases of people getting engine codes etc but they seem to be minimal.

The Sprint Booster seems to have great reviews. The above video is clearly biased against the PC, warranted or not who really knows but there are too many positive reviews for the Commander so it's real.
I do like how small the Sprint Booster is so I bought one, on sale today for $232

They all work the same way with some differences in functionality, form factor, price, quality, and warranties. If you need a small form factor and/or valet mode/pedal lockout then Sprint Booster is for you. If you want ECO mode (see the chart I posted for how this modifies the throttle) and/or Bluetooth (allows you to hide the controller and change settings via your phone) then Pedal Commander is for you. Several companies make one including INJEN and some other makers. A quick search for: Tundra throttle controller will pull up the main popular units to consider.

This video explains how they all work:

I have the P/C and love mine, no experience with the Sprint but I've never heard any bad things about it. If you're concerned about the size, don't forget the new ones come with Bluetooth so you can hide it anywhere. I stuffed mine behind the dash near where it attaches to the pedal and it works perfectly without having to mount it somewhere and see the wires.

    Warranties:

Peddle commander warranty is 2 years...... IF bought from authorized reseller.

    Screen Shot 2020-11-18 at 7.35.27 AM.jpg
Sprint Booster warranty is 3 years. Doesn't cover labor. I think it's unlikely they'd try and repair defective electronics. Probably just send a new unit.

So I know a lot of people buy this to increase their throttle response, but a friend of mine was telling me about getting one for increasing gas mileage a bit as well. I'm guessing the Eco mode is what he's talking about. I have no interest in increasing my throttle response as my truck is mainly used for overlanding/camping, and I never gun it on pavement anyway. I wouldn't mind it helping overall tune better to help with gas mileage, am I way off base here? My friend is no wizard with this kind of stuff so just curious

From all my reading, it does very little to increase gas milage.
Some have stated maybe .5 mpg better with the device.

Pedal Commander claims "Up to 20% MPG gains" but I am not convinced ECO will impact MPG in any meaningful way. On the little driving I have been doing lately, I have actually seen slight gains while not in ECO mode. I use Sport -4 primarily, on highway I exclusively use adaptive radar cruise control (PC is out of the circuit in this mode); 40/60 split City/Highway (80MPH cruise) on very hilly terrain.

Even if some users reported MPG increases you would still have to account for their driving behavior and commuting conditions which you may or may not be able to replicate on your drives. Many of these MPG discussions leave out mods, other than PC, to the truck; most popular mods will most likely negatively impact MPGs. Another factor, ECO mode (according to the chart I posted) appears to keep the engine in a sub-optimal power-band (presumably less efficient bands) for a longer duration; this was the argument a driver on another forum used to make their case against ECO mode. For these reasons above I would be hesitant to recommend PC purely for ECO mode.

Please don't take this as me poo pooing ECO mode, as other have pointed out it has uses for traversing Mud and Snow. For my day to day driving ECO was flat out dangerous for the driving conditions I deal with, mainly merging with fast traffic from a stop or low speed. This mode's throttle response is considerably more sluggish than OEM (again look at the PC chart); you have to get deep into the pedal to get RPMs up and it caps out at 5K RPMs or so. If you dislike the OEM throttle you will hate ECO. The trade off was not worth the risk for me personally.

Not sure what it has to do with PC but better pavement handling unless you have an offroad suspension upgrade.

I had the sprint booster on my 2014 4runner and have the pedal commander on my 2019 tundra. Having used both (and extensive experience with the spring booster) I see no difference in the performance or versatility. In fact the bluetooth function is much more convenient. The video posted is obviously a marketing piece for sprint booster. I am sure pedal commander has the same marketing tactics. I was happy with my sprint booster and am happy with the pedal commander.

He talks about how much gas you save using sprint booster with no data to support that. Notice he also never tests the pedal commander to show you the same throttle response demonstration......these devices are all the same and utilize the same technology.

Thanks for all your responses. I actually had one of these in my old 09 Subaru Legacy more for increased throttle reasons and yeah the eco mode on that almost made the car un-driveable but thought maybe it'd do better with the v8. Guess I may try one and see what happens.

For MPG? Probably. For throttle response? its noticeable over stock even on City -4.

If you were to read what all the people who bought one had to say, you'd become a believer.
They all say you can improve throttle response and acceleration without a hit on mpg's.

I do have one and it's much more than snake oil. It actually changes the way your vehicle, In our case the Tundra, accelerates when you drive.
Is it a bit pricey for what you get? Yes, a considerable purchase for most.

Should our Tundra's have come from the factory with a crisp throttle response?, yes, but they didn't. For all the money i shell out on stupid things i just like for appearance etc..$260.00 is a drop in the bucket to make my truck perform as it should. I recently spent $70.00 to light up the area where your feet are, the wife was not amused.

I think at the end of the day it comes down to the driver for MPG. There may be some placebo effect or the ECO mode of PC may inhibit such fast changes in RPM/Throttle Response. That’s a guess based off info I have read and haven’t tested but it sounds good in theory.
