that's how I got the 8 year/125k warranty. But I'm going in for the 7th time. This is getting a little frustrating. My whole system has been replaced. Literally every component of it already.

what weather conditions were you in when it happened?

I use my adaptive cruise every single day and have had a couple abnormal operations but not enough to lose my mind.

when driving in super heavy rain or on a wet road that cars are kicking up enough to heavily mist the front sensors they will disengage. a good work around is to wax the emblem to help water shed.

good luck with your issue. just remember that technology is evolving and soon enough you wont be able to buy a vehicle without it so jumping to a different OEM may not be the panacea you are hoping for.

many moons ago people didn't want/need electronic stability control. nowadays you'd be hard pressed to find any car that comes without it as the gov and insurance companies made it mandatory like 9 or 10 yrs ago. in due time so will adaptive cruise and lane departure, pre collision avoidance etc.

So true. Eventually it will best best to have an older rig set up for the wheeling adventures or like you said you will not have a choice.

Not necessarily but I dont think they come close to fox . But I say I could build a 1st gen tundra for half the price of a raptor and do just as much or not more with it .something like this would be B.A.

Had it on a mid sized SUV which was fine. It should never be on a truck. Can't lift, put bull bar on, change grille. It's a truck and the fact that you can't get it dirty or it won't work is ridiculous.

Ranchos are nothing more than window dressing compared to Fox...Ranchos are in the lower spectrum/tier off pavement shock.

it's all connected. No PCS means no cruise control and some other features because the camera would be disconnected. Toyota said it will be voided. could I fight it, probably.

I would be pissed as well, and wouldn't blame you for being irate one bit.

It's not secret, I have a GMC for my heavy duty work. So you could say I am bias towards GM's. That being said, you would be flat out nuts going with anything in the 1/2 ton market other than a Toyota Tundra, unless you trade up every three years or under 90K miles. Go hang out on some of the GM forums. Seriously.

A lot of people never have issues with the TSS, and since your truck is stock, this is unacceptable in my opinion. Make them give you loaners, and comp you for your time. 3rd time is not cool.

I would be very up front with the service manager and why this issue keeps happening, and what they are doing about it.

So your telling me your transmission will not be covered because of the TSS system?

I did say I could fight it right? But I would rather fight the buyback process. Just for you I'll see what they say again tomorrow about it.

They can tell you whatever they want, and you can know the truth. People give dealerships a bunch of leverage.

Curious how it all turns out for you, I'll be watching. The amount of times you have been in and number of sensors you have gone through is pretty ridiculous to me.

I know that act. But how does that relate to purposefully disengaging a vehicle safety system? It has nothing to do with installing a aftermarket part. It has to do with your insurance company if you get into an accident after disengaging it. It seems like a boneheaded move to Unplug everything when it should be working on a brand new truck under a 8year/ 125k warranty. Thats just my opinion.

O meant I'm looking at the trail boss. And fyi. My 18 had it replaced at 800 miles 2500 miles. And now 8k miles. Been in a Tundra for 10 years. I never new the 18 had this shit or would have kept my 14 they didnt even ask questions when I called service. Manager was like bring it in we have dozens on hand. Scary right

Your insurance company has to cover you. Now if they continue to cover you, that's a different story.

This system is just an early warning, anti collision system. I'm not sure how the rest of us that don't own a 18' or newer Tundra get around on a daily basis....LOL.

I do agree with you, it does seem like a bonehead move to remove or disable this system. I am afraid I will have to start saying "I wouldn't buy any other half ton that a 17' or older.." Personally, I wouldn't due to some peoples issues. Sure as white on rice, I would have the issues and nobody else.

We all deal with different issues with different manufactures. I have to deal with GM shit, and that is sometimes on a whole different level from what I have read. I have not experienced issues with 1/2 ton GMs, but my last one was a 95 K1500 if that tells you anything.

I know you would loose some money but there are some low mileage used 2017s out there I found one. That’s why I didn’t go New with an 18. My girlfriend has TSS and I’ve never been a fan of the system.

Weird. Going on 17,000 miles on my 18 and have never had PCS issues. I did have the February recall done for it. Don't know why some people have crazy issues with em and some don't. IMO, either trade it in for a 2017 Tundra or if you really don't want to go Toyota, go Ford. I can't stand GM nowadays.

Maybe the sensor isn't the problem. Maybe theres something killing the sensors.
