Of course you can, but again... resale value. You're essentially saying what's the difference between a "clone" and the real thing. Well, one is real and the other is a clone. Not that these trucks are collector's items by any stretch, but the TRD packages are more "desired" at resale.

I did this same thing with my Tacoma. Bought the OR and then changed out wheels and suspension. But my main reason was the rear locker. This time around I just bought the Limited

Same here on 2 Tacomas. Wish Tundra had locker. Every other full size does.

Do you not need to balance them and then get an alignment after?

Nope... The wheels are already balanced. When you get your tires rotated (every 5k I guess), they don't have to re-balance them. The balancing is all about the tires... Tires might be slightly heavier on one side than the other. Adding a weight to the rim counteracts the tire imperfections. Once the tire is balanced to the rim, it is in-balance regardless of where they are mounted. Heck, even just rolling it down a hill it would be nice n smooth.

And for alignments, that is only an issue with the suspension changes, not wheel changes. Again, you don't get an alignment every time you rotate your tires. Same for swapping in a new set. Alignments ensure that your HUBS (maybe not the proper term here.. Whatever you would call the thing you mount your wheel to) are in the right position. Once that alignment is correct, doesn't matter what wheel/tire you have on it.

Hello. First post here. I just picked up a 2019 Limited Crewmax with Premium package in cement grey. I opted to go without the TRD off-road package because I do plan to modify the suspension and I liked the 20" wheels (even though those will get replaced). Mine came with the LED head and fog lights. I don't mind not having the side TRD stickers on the bed but I plan to let my wife custom make me something anyway.

I have TRD OR on my 1794 and I think it was zero cost or cheaper on that trim
