Awww thanks!!! yeah just so happened to have some nice thick plate aluminum and it was unused space so it just made sense to me..

Looks great Bruce, especially the CF wrap. I've messed w/ that stuff and it can be challenging on some of those pieces you did.

Did you put a check valve from the compressors into the manifold? Have you tested to see how fast you can air up now vs single twin compressor?

Check valve no… not sure it needs it… and haven’t tested speed but I will do a side by side single valve dual … 37” on 17 from 20psi to 40 dirt pressure to street pressure and I will do them two separate days so compressors are cold

    And the rebuild is complete....

new upper and lower control arms uniballs, and new hardware with new misalignments

new rotors and pads, and fully refreshed shocks back in...

and now shes sitting on the ground.

    What's left :frusty:

New wrap - this is delayed till after Tundras to Sedona due to delays in materials :annoyed:
New storage boxes for tools, spare parts, recovery gear had to rethink this since I changed out my back seat... but I have a plan. :spending:
new onboard water pump to be swapped (old one gave up the ghost):boink:
    needs a bath:mudding:
figure out why my 5150 whip isn't working, I'm told they are sensitive with ground connections, so need to check my wiring on that.
    Fix gas filler neck:welder:
    Pin trans cooler open:monocle:

    that's it for now :fingerscrossed:

Good progress! Damn the materials delay… seems like that’s everywhere now. I’m excited to see that new wrap!

What’s up with the gas filler neck?

I figured it is a good time to update everyone on the truck and life and other vehicles too...

My last post was back in late January. Work-life got busy due to COVID restrictions opening up and starting to travel more with work. Now that I can go see my customers.

Then life happened, in the middle of March my Father passed away suddenly and tragically leaving my Little Brother, Sister, and me in turmoil.

He left behind quite a large hole! He was the president and co-owner of a decent-sized company which we have now inherited, as well as a lot of financial things and other assets. We have spent the better part of 9 weeks dealing with lawyers and stuff getting everything sorted. Its been extremely trying on all of us, but the family is doing well and healing. My Brother, sister, and I have all grown stronger and closer through this which is great! Things have started to calm down and I have some time back to get on here and other places and start enjoying life again.

So on that topic, I ended up with one of his cars. A 2011 Maserati Gran Turismo Cabrio (convertible for the layman), got shipped out here end of march from Maryland.

It wasn't in the best shape (although nothing majorly wrong), dad rarely drove it only has 11,8XX miles on it, he recently had it serviced but the tires were original the clear bra was 9 years old and the car needed some love both interior and exterior. So what does any car junky do, get to work and have stuff done and mod sh!t! LOL

The first step was organizing the garage and yes I have a new problem:anonymous:, an addiction to Chemical Guys products to keep the fleet clean. :spending:

I started with the basics. I took it to my wrap shop where the truck currently is (Pics to follow after this topic) and had the shop remove the old clear bra, detail, polish and paint correct the car, and install a new PPF wrap on the front half the car.

After that, I addressed the smaller items.
Tires were original so got on a forum, of course, asked questions like a Newb, and figured out the best tire combo and sizing. upsized the tires 10mm on front and rear and installed some spacers to fill the gaps better. Went with Pilot Sport 4S in 255/35/20 front and 295/35/20 rear. You can see sorta in the first pics that the wheels were inset a bit, so now they are pushed out and the tires fit better than the stock Pirellis.

Had to clean up the wheels before new tires.

Then on to the mechanical stuff, figured id let her breathe a little better so installed a BMC air filter and a non resonated X-pipe. If anyone complains about installing an air filter, let me tell you it took me almost an hour for this thing, its not mechanic friendly :frusty:

So all that being said the car is much happier now!
Here is a vid of the cold startup with xpipe. :burnrubber:

    Onto the tundra...

This is the last photo you will see of it full wrapped in the old snow camo... new pattern coming soon! Oh, you may notice new head and tail lights and hood pins... I thrashed it pretty good last T2S had to chop out the stock rad support and build a custom tube one..as well as broke the factory hood latch and hook off the hood. So hood pins went in as well.

It should be done in a week or two. :headbang:

Oh and the bourbon got a new set of shoes! Full military bead locks with the rubber inserts, so I can run 0 psi on them!

Just read through your entire build, really quality work and documentation. Sorry about your loss. Especially hard being that far away. I'm in MD, if there's anything I could do to help feel free to shout out. That Grand Turismo is a beauty, they sound pretty gnarly with an exhaust.
