Painted oem rear bumpers

So I ordered caps from painted OEM parts and the cap brackets are not in line with the holes. Customer service says I need to replace factory metal bracket with aftermarket plastic brackets to mount them on the rear..anyone have any input?

 

Yes, they are correct. The plastic oem bumper caps are not a direct replacement to the chrome one.

 

Ok great I was getting a little worried I had ordered the wrong part. Any idea where I can get the correct bracket for this?

 

Read these 2 threads for info as I don't know all the ins and outs. For the Parts thread, most the links are now dead but you should be able to use the Toyota part number to find it locally.
