I think the adrenaline would have gotten me up to investigate and make sure that thing ran off or was dead. Definitely would have been on high alert

Yeah, 4pm in the afternoon. I've had close calls with deer but I never thought about a cougar, especially in daylight. I was thinking something spooked it from it's resting area because it came running onto the road from a ravine. No time for me to react and I hit it dead center, probably crushing it's rib cage. After everything settled, I got up, went to go check on my bike and saw that the cougar and bike ended up in the brush next to the roadway, only about 4 feet apart. I took a closer look at it and the paws on those cats are HUGE.

Glad you're ok. And with only busted wrist. Was the bike totalled? Ducati's are nice. What size was yours?

It was the 1199 Panigale and it got totaled. There was damage on it everywhere. I think when it flipped it landed on it's rear wheel destroying that. Then hitting it's right side hard and bouncing over to it's left side, sliding into the brush. When I went to the salvage yard to check it out, there was cougar hair embedded between the front tire and rim.

It was a great view. Pain in the ass hunting it though. Everything was in the bottoms. I went to the bottom and you couldn't see 30ft in front of you.

Nice truck. I love Lincoln City. Used to go almost every summer. I have family in Dallas, about 45-60 minute away.

Great looking truck. Best color out there.
    Good luck hunting this year.

I may or may not have a pretty sweet meeting place on the Kalama river - with a good Steelhead hole :D

I like Portland beers, but try my hardest not to pass the second exit into Oregon lol

That's my dream, is to own river property around here. Fishing and bow hunting. Some day.
