We’re up in Pasco picking out a new puppy (drove up yesterday afternoon). Took 84 from Portland out.
I was dreading an icy drive with a bunch of morons who can’t drive, but thankfully it was super smooth.
There was a wreck on 84 in Hood River that had traffic stopped entirely. Thankfully I was able to pop off an exit and sneak through the back roads. 8 min detour and the rest of 84 was almost entirely mine LOL.
    Such a beautiful drive!
    Heading home here shortly.

Thanks!! We’re pretty excited, and nervous. We loved our Chocolate Lab, and really wanted another one - but chose the Wire Haired Pointing Griffon because of their calmer and more personable attitude. Our lab was very personal and emotional, but there are so many that aren’t - and I didn’t want to roll the dice lol.
Tri-Cities still had snow all over a lot of the country back roads. The snow is piled up on the sides of the main roads, but main roads were clear.

The drive back had some clear skies, which really made it beautiful!
The Tundra pic was on Clover Island - Kennewick to give an idea of snow accumulation.

Also - while on 84 headed home today I saw my buddy in the Columbia outside of Hood River sitting on anchor with a few friends. I honked at them, and a bit later he landed a keeper sturgeon :D
He lives in white salmon and they are at least 3ft of snow lol

Congrats on the pup! I’ve got a Lab and a pointer (Vizsla). It’s a great combo in the field and in the house.

What part? I did a 3 year stay in Jacksonville/Richlands area. J Vegas hated it. Richlands not so bad. Love Willmington. If you make the move let me know.... I could use like 100# of pulled pork(eastern vinegar) and as many hush puppies as you can fit in the truck lol.

For sure, great combo! And great looking dogs!
I’m not too terribly excited about the coat-type (wire-hair) my wife chose. But whatever, I have enough say in most of what we do.

HAHA I don't even need to look that up lol. Gonna pass. I had a new construction 3bd, 2bath, 2 car garage that was around 1400sq ft sitting on 3/4 of an acre. I sold for 157k when we left a few years ago. We were lucky to only loose $3g's in the process. I did sell my house fully furnished, with landscaping equipment and purchased a new home warranty on it. I can't buy 3/4 of an acre of swamp land for that here.

I do miss me some THIGS....but not that much. I wish you luck though if you decide to leave that area and head this way. Post up in here if you are looking for ideas of areas or how the job market is looking....i am sure there are others that would pitch in some info for you.

Depends. Prices on West side of the state are more than the east side of the state because of bigger cities. Rural is cheaper than city. Just depends where you want to go. My place is getting rediculous because of all the winery's/winos now.

Southeastern Washington and northeastern Oregon are good places for you then. You'll want to be between the Cascades and the Blue Mountains. South Central Idaho could be a potential as well.

541 here, surprised I didn't stumble upon this thread earlier. Just finished catching up on 12 pages in here, good stuff. Here's a pic from 2 weeks ago when we took the kids to go play up in the snow. Looking at the pictures of the smoke reminded me of how little summer we had that was enjoyable, here's to hoping this summer goes much better! Cheers!

I hope we have a break from the smoky summers. One of the reasons I bought my truck was when getting ready to pack up to evacuate I realized I wouldn't be able to get much stuff in my Corolla hatchback. I live near the edge of town and the fire was 8 miles away but the Rogue River helped stop it.

I didn’t think anything could be better than chanterelles, but the morels are incredible. Can’t imagine walking into a field full like you did at that appraisal!

Since I've been seeing so many Tundra's lately and very few with clear coat paint problems compared with other makes, I've been wondering if Toyota is using a better quality of paint on the Tundra line, I saw a 2002 that looked like it could have just came off the showroom floor and our 2007 with 245,000 miles has no paint problems other than small nicks here and there. I doubt that the paint being in good condition is because everyone is garaging their Tundra's.

Every once and awhile they show up on our property, I had a handful by the entrance to our home and I gave them to our neighbor who really likes wild mushrooms.
