I have a supercharger tundra. I took off the trd cold air and put on a open K&N and have been getting the same code. I have had my truck supercharged since 08. It is not my daily driver and have trouble with ecu looking down n me since day one. What a PITA but love the power I think I am going to switch back to the trd intake. Thinking about the bully dog.

Welcome from Aurora, CO. Have you thought about going go your nearest dealer? At least you will get an idea what's up. Switching back will not solve anything. You need to find out what's going on. It's what I would do. IMO.

Stopped into Auto Zone tonight to get a readout after engine light came on a few days ago...

I've run into this Code: P0139 Heated Oxygen Sensor -bank 1 sensor 2
    Slow Circuit Response
    probable cause:
    -open or short circuit condition
    -poor electrical connection
    -engine mechanical fault
    -EFI relay fault
-faulty heated oxygen sensor bank 1 sensor 2

Never had this before, even after headers and midpipes installed. Tech said probably the driver sensor after the cat. Told him cats were removed when I added headers and midpipes, at which time I had installed a different O2 sensor that came with the TH midpipes. 300 miles ago I added the Hypertech Interceptor, could this be causing this code to show? Thech mentioned adding a BUNG EXTENDER to that sensor... Sound like the right idea?

I've read the bung extender will fix those codes... I've also been meaning to tell you, separate to your o2 issue, I've read running the hypertech interceptor with headers will cause your motor to be very close to running too lean.

Thanks Gary. So on the engine running lean part, that doesn't sound good? Can that become a problem or how can I change that?

From everything I've read on the matter, if it gets too lean, the motor could detonate. The HTI was never tested with headers. To date the only tune intended to go with them is the trail tune on the bullydog tuner.

I just ordered one of these, http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...rue&ref_=ox_sc_sfl_title_2&smid=A9RRFZDGAXG22 and the torque app for my android. Not only can you monitor the afr, but you can get your hp and tq readings at the crank... Cheap, sort of dyno. It would be interesting to know what you get over toyotas hp and tq numbers.

Anyway, the guy that built my cat back, Keith Carty from BAMuffler, is the only one I know that tested all the different tunes and tuners with headers. He says the HTI gets pretty close to being too lean for him to be comfortable. If it were me, I'd call him and talk to him about it. He is pretty nice and I'm sure will give you the right info. His number -

Thanks again. I'll give him a call and I think I'm still within my month of being able to return the HTI through Amazon if needed. :)

I was able to talk with Keith yesterday, nice guy. He suggested trying to relocate sensor to another pot or switching up simulators. Not really sure on doing all that so I may have to take it somewhere. He did mention the Bullydog for the 15 should be just a few months away. So I may return HTI and wait. He also mentioned to remove accelerator medal harness for some additional fun. :)

I'll be interested too to hear your thoughts on your Scan Tool gadget.

I think I'd return it if it were me. If you didn't have headers, it would be another story. I need to find a scale to weigh my truck with me and fuel... This app claims it can read hp and tq at the wheel as long as the weight is correct for the calculation. We will see!

I guess that harness is what gets you the improved gas mileage... After I removed it the pedal was a little more responsive, I didn't notice a change in gas mileage either way.

Are you disconnecting the connector to the accelerator pedal and reconnecting it, or disconnecting some connector and leaving it disconnected?

Sorry if I was a little unclear. The Interceptor come with 2 harnesses, one that goes in engine compartment and one for accelerator pedal. I had both connected, just recently disconnected and removed the accelerator pedal harness. This was just a trial given on recommendation to try. It gave a little more response. I'm returning whole setup though because I have aftermarket headers and I'm getting engine codes because of that. I'll be patient and wait for BullyDog setup.

Is the hypertech install fairly straight forward? I'm not running headers. What is difference between the two harnesses? I'm looking to buy one soon mainly for the speedo calibration.

Not sure on supercharged numbers but naturally aspirated trucks should be 12-13.1 at peak tq.

@jlee reminded me that I have been getting the code again. Started about a month ago. Have had the ultra gauge off for a while. Engine light popped on. Goes on after a good pull up a hill.

Have you had the most recent update? Do you know what your AFR reads when cruising?

It may be that the hypertech combined with the exhaust sets something off in the ecu...

The reason I ask about the update, is a lot of guys don't even realize when there truck is in ethanol mode.

I was talking with Keith about that yesterday and he told me that these trucks will almost always be around 14.7, then fluctuate according to different throttle positions.

That's about what mine is. When I floor it, it goes into the 12 range. What did you have done the other day to switch from ethanol to regular fuel? Just had that reading 0'd out?

In the OBD settings I had originally had it on E85, the switches it to Petrol. Mine reads 2.7%

So I just threw this code towing at 11k feet yesterday... I don't have a hypertech installed, so that can't be causing it

Then its probably the intake and or exhaust. I have the Drop-in AFE Pro Dry Air Filter and BAMufflers 6" Exhaust.

For some reason I thought you use paper filters. I threw that code one time with my afe and exhaust, then went back to paper and never had it again. Not to mention the drop in tq with the drop in... We need a broken record emoji.... Ha

I didn't get the code with the hypertec uninstalled but only had it off for a short time.

I did go a long time without getting the code with drop in filter and hypertec installed. Think it was over the summer.

I think it is temperature and engine load related. Its was 30 degrees and I was pulling 3-3500 pds up a steep hill. Working it hard when it set. I bet I won't set it again til next time towing the sleds.... Super weird
