For anyone using this truck for overland, or off roading of any kind these will become a must have. The lower shock mounts stick way down below the axle in an extremely vulnerable position on these trucks. That makes the thin strapped steel mounts an easy target to get mangled and when that happens changing shocks out is a challenge and lowers your resale value. To make matters worse on the TRD PRO fitted with remote reservoir shocks the driver side reservoir is on the leading edge only a few inches of the ground. Bashing that on a rock or stump makes an expensive problem.

We've put some serious protection down there with 1/4" plate skis that bolt directly to the shock mount. Three wrap both sides of the shock mount and are compatible with the remote reservoir trd pro shocks.

Very tempting right now.. price? My only concern here is that these might not fit my ICONs with Omega bypasses.

@mac11 , I can't find these available for sale on the website. Are they too new an addition?

We just whipped these up this past week. Hope to have them on the website within the next few days to a week when I dig out from under this pile of work. I'll keep you guys posted.

I'll let you know next week. I'm getting the 2.5 CVCV installed. Where these mount it shouldn't be any different than the Omegas.

We're getting close on these but have just been keeping up with production work lately.

I've got parts for a couple test pairs cut and hopefully we'll get them welder together and sent out to test fit by the end of the week.

Not speaking for @mac11 but I believe all the prototypes are still out in testing. We just got back from our trip to Utah testing these skids out. At some point (thinking Hardscrabble on the White Rim Trail) I kicked a rock back going up or got kissed by a good sized rock. Either way, my reservoir on my TRD Pro driver side rear shock bit the dust.

However looking at the damage after we got home i'd say the skids did their job. The reservoir was damaged at the top of the skid. Had I come down on it with the skid it might've damaged the shock mount itself. That being said I'm swapping my rears out to 5160s with the reservoirs up top of the shock body versus the TRD Pro 5160s having them at the bottom of the shock body.

Sorry for the delays on these. We have a small design change to make to make sure the accomodate as many shocks as possible. Hope to have them available at the end of Q2 or early in Q3 once we get that all fleshed out.

I guess better to be knocked around for not releasing than to get beat up for releasing and causing damage to a bunch of peoples really expensive shocks.

We put these on a test truck and had an issue, we took some time to tweak the design and put them on another couple trucks. I'm waiting for a fully battery of testing because I can't afford to be buying 30 people icon shocks. I don't have an in house tundra to do this development on soI'm at the mercy of when I can get trucks in and out of the shop.

I do have current prototypes on the road. So far so good. If you want the current iteration right this second and are willing to sign a waiver of any and liability we'll sell you a current prototype set.

My guess would be the sides of the shock could impact the sides of the protector, if the axle was shifted a certain way while going over bumps. I did stay in a Holiday Inn last night, so i am no expert. lol

The shock pivots as the axle droops. Once the customer went to a long travel suspension there was interference and we had to revise the product. This is something that would only have been an issue with TRD PRO shocks with the remote reservoir at the bottom. Any other remote reservior shock with the reservoir either at the top or remotely mounted would never encounter this issue.

After a few months of positive reports from our test truck on the latest revision we are going forward with putting these in production.

    https://p-p-engineering.myshopify.com/products/toyota-tundra-shock-skid-2007-2018

As there has been several interested parties over the extended testing period here we would do a group buy at 20% off if we have 20+ orders.

Installed my shock skids today. Took a bit of trial and error and definitely needed the help of a buddy, but got them both on. Hopefully will never hit anything with them, but feel better having them on. More pics and details of install in my build thread.
