Are you making the switch to these? Don't you have the SDHQ ones already, right?

If I place an order today, would I be part of this batch or be waiting for the next round?

A customer just cancelled his order on a set of sliders at powder coat. So I have a set "in stock" ready to ship as soon as they come back. Type 4 powder coated with a front dimple plate.

This is exciting news @mac11!! I know mine will be a little longer with the monster liner, but sounds like they are almost there. So stoked! Thanks

They are almost there. Everything has a base coat. We're working on scuffing/sanding the sliders going liner and getting them shot this week. The ones going powder are in line for the 2nd coat. Hopefully that also happens by the end of the week. Everyone will get a shipping confirmation email with tracking when we get them on a truck headed your way.

Need a truck in the shop with that config to make/verify fitment. If you can get yours to Warsaw, Indiana we could get some going.

Were soon going to be discontinuing the current type 4 and replacing with a partially fabricated and boxed kickout. This is not a decision we made lightly but need to do it. This is the first off the line for our Xterra.

I'm no expert, but I'm afraid the boxes will suffer unnecessary damage from rocks and potentially break the weld. What was the thought process that brought you guys to this decision?

I'm not willing to go into any more detail than I already have. The welds and plates will hold up fine to Rocks. Demello Offroad has been doing boxed end sliders for a few years now with no issues.

I wasn't criticizing, just asking. I absolutely love my Type 4s. I'm sure the decision was made with way more experience involved than what I have

No offense taken and I'm glad to hear you're happy with them. It's just something I dont want to make a public thing. It wasn't an easy decision but it had to be made. Just wanted to throw out an example of a reputable company - not even sure I want to say competitor because of their relative size and market share - that does a similar sheet metal fabricated ending of their sliders.

We're using 3/16" steel for the boxed portions so there's ever more metal there to resist wear and damage.

A few people have asked before and I've never had pictures of my parts done strictly in a gloss clear coat with no color. These things are s bit difficult to get pictures of that look like real life but they look great.

I've been considering getting a set of Type 4's. With the upcoming change to boxed construction, is there a compelling reason to wait? I like the look of the current Type 4s, so would be inclined to go with the current version.

I have parts made to produce 1 more set of current type 4. After that they will not be offered.

The price will start the same on the new style, however the first 10 sets starting the first of the year were going to offer $150 off in excuse for installed photos and action shots we can use on social media and the website. That's about double the typical tundras.com discount.

Hopefully that's a compelling enough reason to get some early adapters.

I'd be interested in one of those first 10. I'm assuming it would be available with the dimple plate. Can take pictures.
