Let us know if the extra weight will improve or hinder handling performance. I think the extra weight will help with traction in the snow

Just picked mine up. Looks great but if I were to do it again I’d skip the powder coating and do it after the shipped. They were scratched up pretty good. The crate came apart and the screws scratched the powder.

Mine were scratched up really bad too - no crate at all as it was destroyed in shipping. I refused to accept them actually but Mac is making good on it. I can’t wait to get the new set

Yup picked mine up and crate was smashed. I would've skipped powder coating cause the sliders rubbed against each other. But I keep telling myself, these things are going to get scratched, dinged and banged anyway on the trail. I just have to keep matte black spray paint in hand.

I thought about doing that too. The crate was completely destroyed and the screws did most of the scratching. I think plastic wrap would have prevented most of not all of the scratches.

Agree. It just sucks to pay extra for something and then it get destroyed before I get a chance to. I know Mac tried, it just didn’t work out.

I second this... I think the rubbed paint would have been prevented by plastic wrap.

Nice u getting another set- sucks have to WAIT!!- if I had to do again I would probably go with liner- two coats better than one?

Yea my crate was trashed too- got a couple of scuffs and scratches- but accepted them because they said would not warranty powder coat- so I will touch up and deal with it!!

    Good luck with 2nd set

Went to install them last nite after working a LONG shity week in rain/ wind ( bucket life)
Probably why I got overly frustrated when problems arose- which compounded my issues- finally came in for dinner at 8pm
    Will try fresh tomorrow

Here’s were I have issues- driver side rear hole-
1st - “E” brake cable/ bracket in way of hole lining up- had to remove bracket- will figure out how to remount later

    190FBA65-7516-413A-ADC5-F50896B8C7BE.jpg

2nd-now body mount bolt is hitting new rear gusset- keeping slider from going up any more- will figure out how to cut end of bolt off today- with out removing- PAIN in the ASS
last rear smaller bolt with plate/ handle setup- total shit spot for bolt- can only tighten 1/4 turn at a time- open end wrench only!!

    EB04085A-EF94-463D-8D4E-85ABDC9660CC.jpg

@mac11 - don’t know if these issues are only on my 18 DC- 6’7” bed- or are others having these issues???
Are the bottoms of slider feet that sits against frame supposed to be even with bottom edge of frame???

    CB9D3F32-6CF8-4BEB-867B-930467E305E0.jpg

    Sorry for loooong post

    Anyone else with these ISSUES-
    PLEASE chime in!!

    :annoyed:

Unfortunately they already started rusting before I could touch them up.

    That’s F$CKED UP!!!

Halfway thru my install- just cut off body mount bolt on pass side to raise high and tight as possible- pass side looks like take 1/2 time as driver- having lunch then finish up

Good luck getting new ones un-damaged

Hopefully round 2 will have major bubble or plastic wraps. Maybe thick cardboard boxes will work and won’t break apart causing nails to scratch up the rails. Just some ideas. @mac11

    Installed.......

Make it easy on you for the driver side and remove the tank skid. A little more room to squeeze you hand through.

Remove or loosen one side. Might not be a bad idea to take off probably about 15lbs of dirt in there anyway

Install DONE- final project looks great
    Getting there a little tuff

On my 18 SR DC the problems were on driver side- last rear bolt- TIGHT spot/access issues (1/4 turn at a time with open end wrench only)and “E” brake cable/ bracket must be relocated

Pass-side has “hard” break lines in frame channel- must un-snap lines from brackets in a couple spots( carefull not to break plastic)to get backing plates to sit flat against frame - then lines ride on top of plates then most snap back into brackets

Both sides -last rear cab-mount bolts must be cut off flush with locknuts if u want sliders to be up tight to cab as possible( using ATVjack & floor jack to hold tight )and level with front - I installed a rubber isolater (neon boot) over cut bolt/nut of body mount were it hits slider - so hopefully it won’t rub and RUST!!!

    Yea now need to WASH!!

All in all it could have been worse!!

Good luck to all - SLIDE ON!!

    :mudding:

Unfortunately, mine came without crate also. The sliders are scuffed up, but not too bad considering they got shipped naked. Did they ship with mounting hardware (bolts)? I didn't receive any.

Should start shipping tomorrow with a couple going out Thursday that needed an additional touch up to cover some light spots.

Trust me, I put the time into making them I'm sure I'm more irate than you. If the crates were just going to get destroyed I shouldn't have wasted my very precious time to bother with them. I have a couple days into making crates for this group. This group is not the first that we have shipped, and we have shipped using this type of crate before without issue. It appears to be a single shipper that we're having an issue with. If you have damage at pickup you need to note it on your BOL when you sign for it or there is nothing I can do.

Oh great, I am looking forward to getting mine. ☺️☺️
Those crates look tough, I can't believe they are coming apart. Hopefully they will hold up better.

Give @mac11 some slack. He's giving everyone a great deal on some quality sliders. It's clear he spent a good amount of time on the crates and if you have ever tried to ship LTL you would understand there is a lot out of the shippers control. Putting him on blast after the work and communication he has given is uncalled for
