If your scanner will read the code #, that number can help determine which side the issue exists. Your bad or unplugged AF sensor will most definitely cause an engine to shutdown.

Symptoms of a Bad or Failing Air Fuel Ratio Sensor | YourMechanic Advice

Correct me if wrong but you were dealing with rear sensors ?
Rear sensors only monitor the cats efficiency and the ECM does not use it's readings in making any adjustments.

True. I replaced all 4 but it was a rear sensor that went "bad".

Unhook the problem sensor completely and see if the truck will start. Also do battery reset as others have suggested

Put one of the old ones in where the bad sensor is and see what happens.

If it wasn't a poor connection, swap it with the sensor you replaced to see if the truck will start up and run as @bfunke recommended. Also, there should be a spec on the expected resistance of these sensors you can measure.

I’ll report back once I check but I’m positive the connections are good.

If it's definitely looking like the new sensor is bad, you should be able to swap it with another new one from Toyota since their OEM parts warranty is typically 12 months.

That’s some relief. I took so long to install these, thought maybe McGeorge wouldn’t cover them. Hopefully all works out for the best.

But hey, those are the best mistakes, the ones that can be resolved in less than a minute or two, and didn't cause any obvious damage.

Do you recall what the PXXX # was. Just curious what an unplugged AF sensor would record.
