    @OVTune Thanks Mat. One question for clarification..... now that DS, TC and any other xmsn features are moved to S mode and no longer involved with the tow-haul button, am I correct to assume the the tow-haul button is now back to its original configuration and function, independent of anything in S mode, and functions the same whether in S or D?

    Yes, tow haul button will function similar to stock (as in, changes throttle response, shifting, torque converter) however it is still tied to map switching on ECUs with it.

    All's I know I've read that last few pages and still haven't found out how posi-trac on a Plymouth works. That aside, being I need my ECU updated to be able to flash with vF. Would there be any trouble paying for a 2day Premium TIS and flash the ECU update myself?

    In one case people are actually using the product...but please let me know where my logic is wrong? Or we're hanging somewhere in the middle because we DID buy it but are not using it? Maybe we come up with a new term! Betavaporware! Patiently or impatiently, we're all still waiting. Which may be worth it in the end, but we will have to see!

    Not wanting to continue to beat a dead horse, but I and others are using the tune. The BETA tune that wasn't/isn't ready for release. I have the BETA version of GL. For one reason or another, it's being changed to work differently. I also have updated shift tables. I'm not sure if this is continued to the final release, so it might also be BETA.

    I've not heard the term vaporware until now, but not sure how it relates, so forgive my ignorance. Unless you still haven't received your tune that you bought. Then, I'm sorry you haven't received it.

    Not to sound like a smart ass, but are you just venting that you haven't received it, or do you need us to do something to help?

    If the tune delivers as advertised, in my case with a Magnuson SC, i'll be happy. If it's smooth, does not cause engine failure, and all those extra features work well, it will be worth the wait. I guess i'll leave it at that.

    So you have the Magnuson and the OVTune BETA? Or you're wanting them both? I see you're an 18 like mine, and have been debating installing one also.

    I've not installed the SC yet because i was hoping to try the OV tune with it, rather than do the HPTuner tune then change to the OV Tune. I keep going back and forth with just using the HPtuner or the OV flash and upgrade to the vFtuner. I do want to be able to see it and potentially massage the tune myself but i'm not capable of starting from scratch. I dont have the OVtune beta or any other calibration from Mat yet. I think because he wants to send it out when everything else is done on the new Tundra comprehensive tune with all the bells a whistles.

    I can understand that. I have debated going to HPTuners as well, but I'm sure that if Mat delivers as promised, then we will be able to do the same things as HPTuners and enable and disable all the OVTune extras that we want. I have vFtuner already with my file, but the options don't appear to be in.

    I feel somewhat comfortable tuning NA myself (I've done it on my CJ7 with Sniper EFI w/ timing control) but like you if/when I go boosted on it I want someone more knowledgeable than me to work on it. Let's just wait and see what happens with OVTune.

    Best of luck with the install, and whatever route you go.

    WAIT FOR IT!! The transmission upgrades (computer) are worth the wait...my SC'd tune is good and I'm looking forward to it being fine-tuned soon...the transmission advancements alone are worth the wait especially witht eh OVTune! I had BD prior, and tho it felt a little faster, the transmission wasn't as happy with the whole shebang until I switched to OVT...install, use what was offered WITH the SC'r and than "upgrade" to the OVT system...unless you bought it used without a tuner...HP is good and grand but the transmission part is the other end of the spectrum that needs (or will need) to be addressed.

    I've heard you can make adjustments (throttle response time, shift points, etc.), but not the enhancements like GL, shift-lock, direct shift, etc...

    Gotcha. With my old Titan (2012) I went through BD, Hypertech, and finally settled on UpRev Tuner Edition. I was worth the money to be able to do the things I wanted to do.

    I like the idea of locking the torque converter when towing (I have a 2018 Mallard M28), but have not found a use for GL yet. When I'm towing, and monitoring my temps, if I start going to an incline where it would normally downshift, but I have it locked in GL, you can see the temps in the trans rise. What was the way we used to do it back in the day? Downshift, and rev her up so we can get more fluid to cool it off. I'm hoping that shift lock works like a DSG does where you just tell it to go, and she goes.
