    I might know what happened. Perhaps somebody put a treat in a box, with a hole large enough to get a paw into, but small enough that the paw won't pull back out while holding the treat. And the treat surely won't be left behind......because coons are stubborn. It's a coon-trap (from one of the few novels I ever read, and yes I believe it was elementary school)
