I'm guessing, based on most of what's on their lot, is that it is possibly a local trade in. If so, you're going to want to spend a considerable amount of time inspecting the frame and such as it has probably seen some salt from running up and down I-80 and Hwy 50 in the winter.

The market has started to come down a bit, but really clean 'low mileage' Gen 1s and early Gen 2s are still pricing out fairly high. I've owned a Gen1 and still own a Gen2; they are completely different rigs. If she enjoys driving something that's a bit smaller than the larger Gen 2s, then I'd stay w/a Gen 1.

I'd guess there's some play in that price point, so if you're willing to negotiate and even walk away if you're not comfortable where they're at it may be worth driving it and giving it a thorough inspection.

Good luck on your decision

    Can’t tell ya.

Mostly because rust is the #1 killer of these trucks and I don’t see a single legitimate shot of the frame anywhere.

I guess maybe I missed them. It’s otherwise very clean looking, it’s been hyperdetailed, which is what I would expect at that price point.

It also scares the hell outta me because I can only imagine how much cover-up has been done on the frame if it showed any signs of rusting.

Mine was 15k a year ago in similar shape and mileage. 20k is steep imo but someone will probably pay somewhere near that for it. Keep in mind it’s probably due for the timing belt.

It looks super clean & has very low miles. I'd verify there is absolutely no rust. At that price it needs to be 100% serviced. I'd try to get them down to 15k or at least do the timing belt & all while you are in there items.

    Good luck!

While they did complete Limited Service Campaign (LSC) DSD frame inspection one month before the LSC DSD expired at Peterson Toyota, it would help knowing if they found anything or did they have to put lip stick on a pig.

It looks to be in very good condition. Like others have mentioned make sure you check underneath the truck for rust. Make sure you also check behind the spare tire and under the plastic bed liner. If the underside and frame is in good condition, it doesn’t seem like a bad buy. If it hasn’t had the timing belt done then use that to negotiate the price. And most importantly if everything checks out and your kid really likes it then just get it. With the low miles on the engine it should last her a long time.

Nice looking truck that appears well cared for. Still don’t get the limited with cloth interior, but personal preference on that. 100% check on the rust, timing belt and LBJ situation and make sure they are all in good order before even considering paying that kinda scratch.
