LOL If you drain the transmission fluid out of anything and then drive it to the dealer you're probably going to have transmission problems .

I just got my TRX last week but not holding it long. It’s a lot taller in person and feels a lot bigger than the tundra. I’ll take a side by side picture and post it.

One of the reasons besides the 702hp supercharged engine for single digit gas mileage are the big tires and lift. I don’t think the tundra would be much different with an additional 3” lift and 35’s. Yes the TRX is that much taller than my TRD PRO. It has a lot of technology as well which looks cool but can break and be expensive.

Not a apples to apples comparison drag race against the Riviron thingy. Lower the TRX to the ground put street tires and stiff suspension and it would be just about equal in speed. I’m surprised no one has done that yet.

I was talking to my neighbor and he had a 2017/2018 Raptor. Within the first year his motor blew. They installed a new engine and he said everything would rattle after that. He traded it in for 2K more than what he paid and got a Ram 2500 diesel. He wants another raptor but is waiting a few years when things hopefully aren’t as crazy with them.

Point is anything can happen with these high end trucks. Would I drive the $&@“ out of this TRX for 3 years leased, absolutely. But keeping one long term I wouldn’t feel comfortable like the TRD PRO.

Why did his transmission fluid get drained? I thought he said he was offroading and it dumped it. Never heard of a Tundra doing that.

He doesn't actually say what happened . When he took it to the dealer they called Headquarters and Ram sent an engineer or two down to take the part that broke to find out if it was a design flaw or why it broke so they could fix it on the line for the new ones .

There's a guy on You Tube that took his TRX and did some jumps with it . The first was over a creek with a bunch of wheels and tires in the bed and then drove it home .

You talking about streetspeed717 who totaled it? Even though it still limped home. Bilstein bought his shocks I think. Not sure if RAM bought it back or not.

He bought a couple more and has a stock one plus one with 2 additional turbos getting 1000hp.

Why would you put street tires, lower it and put a stiff suspension on the TRX? That defeats the whole purpose of it. Might as well race against the challenger? That does 0-60 in 3.7 Redeye with 797HP does 3.5. Still slower than the Rivian. How did you think a TRX would be faster than 3 seconds, ever?
The cybertruck has 35" offroad tires and has 16" clearance in the highest setting. The Rivian motors aren't as powerful as the Tesla plaid motors and weigh more too. The plaid motors can be lifted by one person.
The nice thing about electric though, is you always have full torque and don't have to wait for the engine to get into the right RPM range or for turbos to spool up. This means the race times are usually pretty consistent, no matter who is driving. You need a good driver and lucky timing for ICE vehicles.

Gee, I wonder why no one has taken the most hard core off roading truck you can buy from the factory, lowered it and put street tires on it.

If I was Ram and a guy who admits to jumping his truck wanted a buyback after he totaled it, I'd tell him to pound sand.

How many of them have actually made it off road? Remember the old Ford lighting and dodge SRT? That’s what I envision with a hellcat engine. Put that up against the Riverthingy. There’s a TRX moded with 1,000hp that’s a 3.2 second truck. Probably be in the 2’s if they design one like the old lightning and SRT.

A 2 second truck with an ICE is really tough to do, let alone do well. There is just a world of difference when you're talking about instant torque at all 4 wheels.

A Supercharged tundra is quick enough, power to weight a doublw cab is pretty close to a Subaru STI.

are these trucks comparable? In Canada the TRX's i've seen are $130k whereas a Tundra is $80k. That had better be one damn amazing truck for that money.

Whatever this forum told me to do
    I'll 2nd this.

Wife has a '21 Model S Plaid. I get to drive it when allowed.

    instant power/torque is an understatement.

and it will do it EVERY time. with the A/C on. While listening to Rush on a 1000 watt sound system.

You need a true drag racer to beat this high HP EV's.

stock to stock, no, stock F150 with ecoboost will beat stock Tundra in a drag race easily, but as a project, Tundra is pretty fun and easy to upgrade, and you CAN technically order a $100k TRX in Canada, the problem just most dealers want to push you into level 2 option and bunch other add-ons.

So you saying we should do Prospeed built engine package group buys?

I thought they shelved the cyber truck? Bottom line is just when you think gasoline is too expensive oil will come down in price and power consumption along with natural gas prices $/kwh will spike and everyone will be running back to hybrids. It’s the current administration causing most of these supply/commodities issues to try to reinforce their false green initiatives.

Our reliable gas guzzling tundras with V8s will still be worth some serious coin$$$

The Tundra TRD Pro is more similar to the Ram Rebel than the TRX.

i completely agree. i guess i was asking OP if this is a sensible comparison to make being the TRX can easily cost another 50% more. Don't get me wrong, its an insane truck that would probably be a ton of fun to rip with but the overall cost, that thirsty engine and the fact that its a Dodge makes me think i'd much rather buy a badass side by side to pull behind my Tundra instead if given the choice.

No not scrapped, just delayed, along with everything else. They're still testing cybertruck models. They need to build more 4680 batteries to hit the range requirements for it too.
