I've been thinking about doing this (sorry if the question has been asked I didn't read further into the post) but how long does the process take? I want to do my grill bezel, mirror caps, door handles, rear bumper and back up light faces. The truck is my DD so I don't wanna drive around without all that stuff.

 

Anytime your doing body work you want to take your time. Its going to take hours just to sand everything properly and longer to prep. I would plan to not drive the truck for atleast 3-5 days. It also depends on what paint, primer, clear coat you use.

It took me 3 hours to sand my front and rear bumpers, hood bulge, and door handles.

20 minutes prep time before applying primer.

2-3 hours after primer to apply base coat

24 hours after base coat to apply clear coat

24-48 hours for clear to harden.

Dont forget time if you need to wet sand and buff trouble areas.

Then you can re-install everything.

 

Damn you guys! You are just as ruthless as the TacomaWorld forum. You did a hell of a job! Very nice. Subtle, but so freaking clean looking. On the wish list.

 

So here is the finished product (for now). Blacked out bumpers, surround, Grille, Roof and lights (trd pro lights on too). Next to get all my lights installed, then Lift wheels and tries, and then a spray in bed liner and cover.

 

Looks sooooo good! Nice job man truck looks awesome.

 

More has been achieved. Rims/Tires/Light bar/wheel spacers/exhaust...

Thank you sir! Cant wait to get the lower light bar installed and rock lights. Still debating if I want to do Raptor style mod and put some ambers in the grille.
