I have a 2018 tundra crewmax. I’m looking for from coil overs. Was looking at the kings and was told by someone (a shop giving me pricing) that the Kings are stiff as hell! Is this true? I’ve seen these 2.5 with resi the cheapest at about $1425...

Not sure that I need adjusters, I’m sure it is nice to have but I’m already pushing my budget.

The Kings are great. I run ADS but Kings would be my second choice. Usually it's the spring, not the shock that makes 'em feel stiff. For everyday driving, no heavy bumper, no winch 600 or 650 lb spring would be my choice. Then, depending on who you order from, you can have them valved before you have 'e'm installed.
That's one of the great things about high end shocks,,,,,,,,,, very reconfigurable.

What’s your budget? I am very pleased with my Eibach kit from @Toytec Lifts. It rides better than stock and is priced very well.

What do you have in the rear? Have you looked at Icon? Eibach? Boss? How much lift do you want to achieve?

Any of the top brands will be comparable. Ride quality is determined by shock valving, best bet would be to contact a vendor of the brand you want and tell them your wants and needs. They’ll custom valve a set for you. I went with ads and extremely happy with them, coilovers have been on the truck for about 3 years now and still look brand new 7FAB0E46-CCB9-4476-BF26-32432A2C2376.jpg

Kings are not stiff, they're a smooth comfortable ride on road and high speed f'roading I've done and i love them, I also removed the front sway bar. Any of the brands will work great, KING/ADS/FOX/ICON, they're all rebuildable and can be custom tuned/valved to how you want them to ride. Don't get stuck on which one is better, it'll drive you crazy, pick your favorite color and go with that, build quality is about the main difference other than that they all do the same thing better than stock.

I think the only way they would be stiff as hell, would be if they were cranked down to much, that would be true of any coilover.

Nothing done to them, straight from the box to the truck, I have the non clicker ones(adjusters). The clickers are a waste according to some guys I know, if the shock is tuned right you shouldnt have to mess with the adjusters. I did nothing to them and they perform awesome! Just a word of advice, whoever you buy them from make sure they adjust the driver side coil over for the lean, I need to fix mine.

Thats good to know!!!! how much lift did you get? front and rear? can you verify part number? i don't see where it talks about getting lift out of the shocks, same with rear?

I've been told that all are good brands and i'll be happy with....think i'm going off of price then, the fox will be cheapest if i get the used 2.5 rest rears for sale by a couple members here.

    2.5 Front with Resi.....
    Fox - $1399
    Kings - $1425
    Icon - $1599

25-001 143 & 144. It comes lifted about 2-2 1/2 in the front, all the brands mentioned have adjustable front coil overs. The rear shocks provide no lift, I think max is 3” but the more preload you add the shittier the ride quality. Good luck with your choice!
