    Ok, one thing:

I wish I could turn off the comfort access from Entune (the seat/steering wheel moving when turning off/on the ignition).

Yuuuup. If I was going to keep my truck long term I'd do the same. It it's just not worth the money for me .

Oh, one more thing. No power on the phone charger unless the key is on.

None of these things I mentioned fall into the "hate" catagory. Just annoying.

Is that something that was added to 2018s? Mine did it from the stock entune and my aftermarket deck with Maestro RR can do it too

That's easy to fix. Pop the electrical cover just behind the battery and locate the relay titled "P/Outlet No.1". Remove it and fashion a jumper wire with two male 1/4" blade connectors and install in place of the relay (picture below)

    IMG_1629.jpg

The two cig. lighter power outlets will be hot 24/7. I now would like to do the same for the power windows (as I did on my 2006) but I don't know where the relay is for those.

I was never fond of not having a true limited slip. That was about it. If I complain any more about my Tundra, it would make me look like a fool for buying it.

    - After 2012, all production vehicles are required to have a traction control system. In addition a black box is also required. So we should probably stop complaining about traction control, or go buy a mid 2000’s truck. Toyota was just way infront of the curve on this feature.

It has to be managed. I am careful not to have anything on the charger any longer than overnight or for any length of time (and always only a phone). This was one of the first things I did on my 2006 (as well as the power window relay jumper) and it was just super handy. I had no issues with it in nearly 12 years.

Yes, there are things I wish were better or redesigned but that's where doing mods and putting your own touch on it comes in.The only thing I really hate about my Tundra is ...:mudding: not muddy enough! Hard to find the play time and mud around here.

Oh, and I really have nothing I dislike about my 2018 dc. I am easily spoiled by modern, powerful, dependable Toyotas and this Tundra is a perfect example of this.

Case in point: I look for reasons to jump in and take off. Need a washer at the hardware store? I'm outta here...

Dunno. I have a 17. The manual mentions it, but the option is not in Entune.

You are a life saver sir.

When I'm down in Baja pitting for our races cars, I have to leave the key in the ignition to hear the race radio. And I leave the window down just in case someone locks it by accident. We're out side of the truck and have an external speaker to hear the radio.

Mine (2018) has the "3 blink" signals for lane changes. Not sure what package these come with but they are handy.

I agree with the auto headlights. I use them but I stand ready to over-ride if necessary. I don't like that drivers coming the other way topping a hill get blasted with my hi-beams before the auto dims them. I like to lower before I see their headlights. Mostly though, they work well on mountain roads when I need to have both hands on the wheel.

Instrument panel should be backlit like my Tacoma with headlights off. Gets kind of hard to read on cloudy days, with sunglasses on, and at dusk and dawn before headlights are required.

If you understand that you may be bypassing safety devises by a jumper. Your fuseable links should cover you...but I haven’t looked at a schematic. Only takes one time, no matter if it is 1 year, 12 years, or 30 years. If you do have a fire, it may be a total loss. Hopefully the truck isn’t parked in your garage.

The circuit is still fused. All I am doing is allowing the circuit to be live without the key turning it on. It's all good, no danger here, the load on the circuit is identical as if the relay was there, one only has to be careful of a load that may potentially drain the battery. The relay just activates the circuit based on the key supplying power to the relay.

I figured it was still protected, but one never knows until they look at a schematic.

I wonder why the Toyota doesn't' have it on all the time. Has to be a reason huh?

I mean Ford and GM does it.

Inferior engineering on those two so it must be a bad idea.
