My fuse box isn't the same as the one posted and I don't see one labeled "P/Outlet No.1"
Mine is a 14 CM SR5. Would it be labeled something else?

To answer your question, I currently have a 2014 Dodge Ram 1500 2wd, 2013 Ford F-150 4x4, 2010 Tundra 4x4 CM, and a 2017 Tundra TRD Pro 4x4. The Ram has the sharpest braking system. The F-150 is almost as strong as the Ram, but, my Tundras braking systems just don’t cut it for me. They wear out really quickly, and or, warped very easily in my opinion. I pull a 40’ boat and trailer very often, as well as, a 16’ utility trailer that I sometimes use to carry two ATVs or motorcycle. By far, the Tundras brakes wear out much faster and they seemed to be too small for the size and weight of the trucks.

That maybe true about the bed bounce. But, there’s just something about the Tundra braking system that is just not as solid as it should be. I have owned many many trucks over the past 35 years. By far, Toyota Tundras are the best built in my opinion. However, my biggest disappointment with the Tundras is their brakes. I have always had to replace the brakes on my Tundras, due to excessive wear in a very short time after ownership, and or, warping. I have owned ever generation of Toyota Tundras.

My very first brake trouble came with the gen-1. Approximately 6 moths after purchasing my 2002 Tundra, the right front brake ceased up and the brake locked up on my while driving home from work. I had to get it towed to the nearest dealership. They replaced both front brakes, to include the rotors, calipers and sensors. At the time that I went to get the truck from the dealership after they replaced the brakes, the service writer told me that there were a recall on some of that model year Tundras for their brakes.

Then, I bought a 2008 4x4 CM and the rotors wore out in just over a year. It kept wearing out approximately every 30k-40k miles after that. So, I traded it for a 2010 CM and experienced similar issues. Still own it, but, bought a new 2017 TRD Pro 4x4 CM, and am having similar issues with the brakes.

My boat and trailer weighs 12,442lbs whenever the boat is topped off with gasoline. 11,998 on an empty tank.

Don't know what to tell you other than the Tundra's brakes are already fairly robust compared to the rest of the segment.

Either you're towing heavy all the time, driving way too fast, or you just got unlucky by owning some trucks with bad sets of brakes.

Edit: And based on your previous post, it appears that you're exceeding the Tundra's maximum tow capacity.

Cool, just wondering because I was thinking about getting a boat. And towing was a concern.

All of the above! :). Whenever I buy a truck, that’s what I buy it to be. I expect it to pull its weight and do whatever a pickup truck is supposed to do. I don’t baby my trucks or anything like that. Plus, I spend a whole lot of money on their upkeeps, just to preserve their life expectancies and to have a peace of mind. With that said, I love Toyotas. I’ll never buy any other pickup trucks other than Toyota from now on. And like I said before, the one primary thing that I hate about my Tundra is it’s brakes!!

Truck with towing package should come automatically with a 38 gallon gas tank. You’re ok with a 26 if you’re not towing but if you start doing it you’re screwed.

I too would like a larger fuel take as I tow a travel trailer, and although it is a half ton truck I think they could stand a little higher payload rating.

Advance tech in vehicle?? They missed that shit by 15 years.
    Radio sucks ass
    Speakers are paper
remote start should be standard on limited and up... Plat don't even come with this feature. Pathetic.
    TSS - never works correctly
    Bed Bounce - Horrible
    3rd gear clunk
Sunroof motor comes on when its closed (it's makes the noise as if in use, glass never moves at all)
    No folding mirrors
    No all "windows up" function
Interior lighting is halogen (hahaha that is rookie shit)
No blind spot warning system (fuck that lane change shit)
back up cam too dark - not inline with the vehicle
^^ Should be LED lights in Reverse (I've done this mod but should be factory. it's not 1983)
LIMITED package isn't...the shit is pretty much an XLT on a budget.

This is a decent truck... and the only reason I bought it was for the longevity, but it will definitely be my last ever tundra purchase. There are way better trucks out there. This truck aint it.

The 4x4 Tundras can handle a 40’ boat up to 12000k lbs. the handling and everything is super. I upgraded my brakes to Baer Big Brakes. They worked best for me. Plus, I live in South Florida, and it’s flat with long roads. If I live in California or Colorado, where there are lots of hills, I would probably get a F350 or Ram 3500.

There are only two reasons for me to have a Tundra over a Chevy or Ford - reliability & resale value. I'm on my fourth Toyota and haven't had any major reliability issues. That being said my 2010 F150 was way nicer and way better equipped than my 2018 Tundra. The Tundra is like stepping back in time. Yes I can get a Platinum and have nearly all the same options, but holy cow are they expensive. I shouldn't have to buy a Platinum to get the same options that Ford, Chevy and RAM have in base or mid level models. I do expect to pay some premium for the extra reliability but an extra $10 - 15k is just dumb.

Not legally they can't. You are overloaded from a towing standpoint, and most likely from a payload standpoint. You should have an F250 or Ram 3500 right now. Just because an engine will pull it, doesn't mean that you should do it.

Sorry, pet peeve of mine. Lives can change in an instant because of people ignoring rules and towing carelessly. The 1/2 ton Tundra, which is also notoriously weak on payload, is not built to pull a 12,000 lb load. That is why it isn't rated to pull 12,000 lbs. I'm glad that you are 2,000 miles away from me.

EXACTLY. Well stated Atomic City. The tongue weight (10%), or 1,200 lbs, eats up most, if not all, of the Tundras payload. Remember the space shuttle stunt? Toyota “pulled” that shuttle, they didn’t “tow” it. Overloaded trucks is my pet peeve too.

The motor comes on as if you were opening the sun roof vent... not the whole glass. its on for like 2 seconds but its audible and every time it makes a noise I take my eyes off the road to look up. Tundra Turd. I have a 10k service due this Saturday and before I cuss em out for not rotating my tires...I will mention this motor noise. I already have an NHSTA claim on the TSS.

Not sure. My photo is from my 2018 so I imagine this may be 3rd gen specific. I know my wife's 2017 Sequoia does not have the "P/Outlet no.1" relay in her electrical box like mine has.

"Hate" is such a strong word. I don't think there's a single thing that I hate about my truck.
There are some minor annoyances, of course. No one is going to be 100% perfectly happy with anything.
I'd love for at least my driver's window to have an auto-up function. I'd love better gas mileage, more storage, the rear seats to fold down to access behind them, the interior trim to not be so fragile and scratch so easily. I'd love more quality tech and a better sound system/car play/etc. But, I love my truck. Almost all of those things can be added after the fact. I knew about all of them before buying my truck. I chose my Tundra over the Chevy/GMC that had more "toys" because I felt that the Toyota is a better truck.
One thing I cannot understand though is why there are 5 (or is it 6?) different types/colors of trim on the interior? I wish I had leather seats and a sunroof, but even though I could afford the higher trim model, I didn't want the higher payment. Plus, I loved the exterior aesthetic of my truck off the lot. I do need to rid myself of some chrome though.

Sure, there are things I'd like to change, and some that I will over time. But, overall, I'm very happy with my truck and I love driving it.

We don’t normally leave our boats in the water down here in South Florida. Too many issues can arise from leaving the boat into the water.

As for the total tow weight of the 5.8L V8 Tundra.its 10,200lbs. I know that the recommendations of the manufacturer is always best to follow for warranty purposes, but, the truck con handle 12,000lbs. :) After all, I have seen the video clips of the tundra pulling a Space Shuttle. :)

Good grief. It isn't best to follow the recommendations for warranty reasons. The tow rating is there for SAFETY reasons. Plain and simple. But you just ignore it. Like I said, I am glad you are 2,000 miles away from me. Problem is, there are so many out there like yourself that just ignore shit like towing capacity and people end up getting killed because of it. You are overloading that Tundra and you know it. You should have a heavier duty truck, or a lighter boat.

Anyway, to the topic. Although this is the 3rd gen forum, so maybe I shouldn't chime in since I have a 2nd Gen.

But what do I hate about my truck? That it hasn't been as reliable as my other Toyota vehicles. When I first bought this Tundra, I didn't really care for how it looked, and I knew I was going to be sacrificing capability (payload is mostly what I am concerned about since I don't tow much), but I decided to go for it anyway because of how effing bulletproof my 2005 4Runner was, and the fact that the CrewMax actually had space for me and my family (I am 6'8" and my kids are following suit - rear legroom is nice to have). I knew it wasn't my favorite in the looks department, and it was a weaker truck than I wanted, but it was outweighed by my hope in it being "Toyota Reliable". Oh well.
