    What size tires and rims are guys running with a 3in lift? What offsets are being used?

    315/70R17 (34.5") on 17" Rock Warrior wheels with 1.25" Spidertrax wheel spacers. End result is 18.24mm offset.

    So from what I'm hearing here the Toytec is a better ride then the OME off road but which one rides better for normal day to day driving?

    BOSS from a number of reports. Of course you can always go FOX or King, but those are a good chunk of change

    Only problem is I have a 4.6 so I may be stuck with 275's. If I find a lighter 295, I'm definitely going with that. Toyo AT's are 64 lbs compared to 55 lbs in 275, so I'm on the fence thinking "what's ten more pounds?"

    Eh I have time to figure it out.

    Yeah the Boss is a better setup. Comes down to how much your budget is. Most of these aftermarket setups are all good. Definitely better than OEM.

    Thanks Sean. Figured nitto and toyo would be somewhat similar to each other weight wise, seeing as they're made by the same company

    I almost went with those, but couldn't get over the sidewall looking like it was just slapped on rather than a nice transition. Still not ruling them out though

    I have OME 614 with an aal in the rear and the ride is firm but very controlled. I personally like the ride better than the stock TRD ride.

    When I was shopping for suspension kits, Toytec Ultimate used Bilstein 5100 and this was time before the redesigns when some 5100s had failures. This was one factor that pushed me away from the Toytec kit. (The Boss kit seems to use different shocks.) I went with the OME kit for its bullet proof reputation. Personally, I would love to see OME BP-51 available for Tundra. The reviews I read have been impressive. Unfortunately, it's no go for Tundras so far.

    Very well built. Solid. There is a 1" and 2" setting. There is a third setting for Tacos or 1st gen Tundra. Forgot which.

    Shocker guys but I thought of another question going up 3 in the front and about 2 1/2 to 3 in the back do you need extended brake lines or any other extended parts that I'm not familiar with

    Nope. I did put on an $8 OME bracket that moved brake line a couple inches higher but not really needed.

    Very solid. Welded hardened steel with a zinc coating. I believe 3/8" thick. Toytec said that they have never had one fail. It does end up being the same shackle used for the 1st gen Tacoma. Has been in their lineup for a long time.
    They are adjustable between 1" and 1.5" lift height. They go by lift height not by length of shackle as others do.
    I had it on the 1.5" setting and went back to 1" setting. No need for extended brake lines or the carrier bearing drop.

    Imho, it comes down to if u want adjustability or not. If u like the way other trucks sit with the ome then go for it, if not don't do it cuz u have no adjustability. As for ride, I think they ride great, controlled. Stiffer than oe for sure but it feels stout. Boss is nice because of adjustable heights depending on user preference.
    I went ome on my tundra because of the maintenance free aspect. Never have to touch them, and it'll be years til they leak. Hell, they will need lower bushings before they leak.... proven longevity and strength.


    I put boss on my taco because of the adjustability, I have bumper, skids and winch.... it's nice to be able to play around with height wise when adding weight. Softer ride then ome but not by much. Great on road and offroad just like ome. Boss imo are not maintenance free tho. Twice as many bushings and I had one leak in 2 years.... but I jump my taco:)
    Lastly it comes down to how deep ur pockets are... that explains itself.

    If I had a second or 3rd gen, I'd have ome up front with spc ucas, brake lines all around and ome Dakar leafs out back with boss rear shocks. but that's just me:cool:

    Not sure why more guys don't run Dakar leafs instead of blocks... I don't get that...

    Shackles come in a pair. You only have shackles in the rear so you just need one pair. Qty 1 if your checking out online.

    Good advice.
    I have never ran the OME but have heard a lot about their longevity. Build solid. They only give you 2.5" of lift however. If your looking for 3" then you will have to go another route.

    Dakar leafs are great I agree. They are listed at 2.5" of lift for the rear though. That is more than I want in the rear.

    If I go with toytecs boss and add a Leaf it says that it gives 1.5 in of lift in the rear. I want my ride to be level possibly a little rake to it. What's your guys opinion should I go with adjustable shackles from toytec or go with coachbuilders? In the future I might get a camper. Nothing huge however. And that would be all I'd be hauling. Don't want to be squatting. If coachbuilders what size?

    My OME 614 gave me 3 & 1/2 inch of lift in the front. From what I've seen, most people with 612 got around 3 inches. 613 will give you near 4, but I don't recommend it without a heavy bumper.

    Toytec shackles at 1.5" and Firestone air bags in the future for when you tow or haul. I have heard that AALs on 2007+ tundras are very stiff.
