I’d be changing all the fluids and doing a serious fresh water hose down of the entire chassis/etc. after all that.

Hatteras is harsh on vehicles. The MAF clean and Throttle Body cleaning, like others said, is a good idea.

One other thing overlooked during flooded conditions driving is how hard it is on wheel bearings. The water gets in the units and emulsifies the grease. Bad mojo. Even worse with salt water.

Knew a guy who did some salt pond berm blitzes one summer day and his truck was never the same after that.

Yep just an internet tough guy mechanic that knows not to water ford a $50k truck that's not built for it. :duel:

I am sorry you took it wrong, I could have come across nicer, I apologize for that. I was in a mood and maybe I let that bleed into my words here, and you did not deserve that.

I truly hope your truck is OK and does not cost you bunches of money, nobody deserves that with a nice truck.

Asking for guidance on something I'm not directly experienced with so I don't make a big mistake is smart, and what this forum is for.

We share our knowledge here. I have posted to help others and will continue to do so.

I apologized for coming across to harsh to the OP, it really was not intended.

Let's just move on, I am.

Yup, that happens, we can all be overly sensitive at times, instead of laughing at our own foolishness.
It's tough to convey emotions on impersonal digital media, things go wrong sometimes.

No hate intended, just love for our trucks.

You lucked out there. Water intrusion is no joke. Whoever said water and oil don’t mix obviously never changed a head gasket. Water mixed with oil looks like a milkshake if it’s run long enough. Best to change that as well as it might take while for it to mix.

Change all yours fluids. We had some flash floods here about 15 years ago and I ended up driving two different cars through low flood waters. They were never the same. Transmissions went out on both as there had been minor water intrusion that I was unaware of ( I was young). I Did not change the trans fluid and they shifted alright right up until they exploded.

I had some electrical problems in the caddy that never worked themselves out after that as well.

I watched a guy in a firebird hydrolock his engine driving into a flooded road with seawater one day... that thing was instantly totaled.

    Anyway, good luck!

Appreciate everyone's input. Truck is driving today like nothing happened. Made it the 5 hours back to Richmond no problem. All fluids will be changed, MAF and throttle body cleaned, I'm adding a snorkel and A.I.P. diverter. I think I really lucked out to say the least. Tundras.com saving my ass once again!

Good news. Your truck is badass enough as it is. A snorkel will just add to the badassery.

After install, my wife and I used ladders to stand over the cowl and we dumped to full five gallon buckets at the same time on the windshield and cowl to try and get water inside and the air box was dry.
