Whatever, when will toyota release a proper Supra? Inline 6, targa top, amd manual transmission. Toyota is already bring back the 86, MR2, and Celica. I have owned them all at various periods. Toyota is back and teh third gen is the best Tundra to date.

OP probably checked out. 2nd gen owners never disappoint in the 3rd gen section.

Trust me, it’s perfectly level. The truck and trailer are sitting on uneven ground.

OP, if you want the hybrid the get the limited with Off-Road package. If you don't need the hybrid then SR5 with Off-Road package.

I got the Limited Hybrid 4x4 with Off-Road package because I do drop-offs and pickups my kids at school 5 days a week. Even with lots of hours of idling (in electric mode) I still manage about 19 mpg after 9000 miles. Comparing that to my 2016 Limited 4x4 5.7L V8 I can get about 13 mpg. That's greater than 40% efficiency.

    Good luck OP.

Really! That would piss me off. Oiling issue and there is the likely hood that cams and journals will have damage. Plus add an extra 10 hours of labor and hope that the tech doesn’t make a mistake putting it together.

Actually I own a hybrid. Everyone calls it a 3.5. I guess it’s easier to say than a 3.44 but if your splitting hairs I’ll give it to him.

I'm thinking about trading my trusty 2023 but can't find a 5.5 with AVS which is now a must have for me.

I do that in a 2005 Volvo XC70 with 275k miles I bought for $2200 cash in 2017. It is at least $70k more efficient.

You are 100% correct but sitting in BRAND NEW truck that no one has farted in ever is PRICELESS. Seriously it is just money. You make money then you spend money => helping the economy.

I'm making money and putting them into investment accounts. That's how I plan to retire early, while I have remnants of health to do shit I like to do (drinking outdoors, hundreds miles away from help). Paying to anyone just delays that happy moment of my life.

I farted in a brand new '19 Tundra and '22 Sequoia. Tundra smells just like that '05 Volvo now, maybe a bit worse.

Another use case for the Hybrid besides towing!
Question though: Isn't "idling" in electric mode actually ICE engine NOT running?

Well, at first I was in the market for a used 2014-15 Tacoma. Prices were in the neighborhood of 28K and irate almost 9%. That didn't make sense, then went for a new Tacoma, but the markup was terrible, and the messed up with back seat space. That is how I end up in a new 24 limite TRD OR with almost every package.

Most consumers have payments on large purchases and when paid off they feel great about that investment. I would think most 2nd gens are paid off by now. My hope is to be in the same position soon including having a wonderful truck, with no issues to drive for years to come. I don’t understand why you take time to write these long responses with all the emojis in a forum for a truck model you don’t own? But hey do you.

I love the 2nd gen and it is a reason I bought the new model. I’d argue that the new tech is valuable and the advancements provide a safer vehicle.

Well, there are 2 reasons I take the time to write these long responses.
    1. If someone quotes me saying something as ignorant as "you had a vehicle payment at one time" to defend why I should now purchase a Gen 3, I feel compelled to respond.
    2. I'm stuck in the house after having a shoulder replacement 10 days ago and I honestly have nothing better to do.

I don't care what anyone drives.
The OP asked for info, and I gave him mine and what trim I would buy if I were to do so..
At least I drove a Gen 3 Platinum for 10 days, so I have some experience with it and wasn't impressed.
As well I've been reading on this forum the last three years of the Gen 3 owners pissing and moaning about all the issues they've experienced.

That is the difference between you and I.
You don't want to pay attention while you drive and I do.
I don't need any of the new nanny crap on the newer vehicles.

    upload_2025-1-28_9-52-16.png

Besides that, my last 3 vehicles were bought new at 0% interest.
I will not purchase any new vehicle at the interest rates offered over the last several years.

    upload_2025-1-28_9-56-32.png
    upload_2025-1-28_9-58-28.png

I hope that helps you understand.
It means so much to me to help clear up your confusion.
How is that for a long response? :D

I already pissed and moaned twice about my truck today and I haven't even had breakfast

If I was a 5 year old with some cash I would've bought a new 05 limited. If I was a 16 year old with some cash I would've bought a new 16 limited. Sadly it took me 23 years since being born to acquire a new truck that I can do all the maintenance on but man id kill for a new 05 limited in this day and age hell id pay the 55k i paid for my limited in 2022.

I have realized after many payments that I value freedom and peace more than a new truck. I talked to my dad yesterday just catching up and he asked about the truck to which I replied oh you know making the payments and keeping up the maintenance and he laughed saying we all have to do it once, even if I told you no you'd have argued and I knew you weren't dumb enough to do something you can't uphold so I let you learn it on your own because my dad did the same and if you don't have the instinct to back out of a bad deal you should learn it with a car rather than an actual asset.

I wish I had listened to my dad, mom and posts like this even though it might've sounded lame at the time $36k into SP500 would've had me pissing and moaning in a different way this morning. I guess whats done is done I'm not gonna sell it and give up the devil I already know and possibly get into someone else's mess I think the best thing to do is keep it running till it can't no more at least I'm fortunate enough to experience a new truck at this age but I don't think I'll be doing it again unless there's a nuke proof vehicle up for sale @ 0% APR. (I hope this thing will make it till that day lol or its gonna be making angry V8 noises)

Wishing you a speedy shoulder recovery!

I got a BIL going through the post surgery shoulder rehab right now. Not fun but very necessary.
Best to ya @1lowlife for speedy recovery and minimal pain.

If you're sitting for too long and the battery is low then ICE will turn on. For me waiting for the kids in 10-15 minutes - no ICE is running.
