The oil in the pics looks like it might just be the mess they made at Sloppy Seconds Lube Shop (or wherever you took it) and never cleaned up. But who knows. Clean it all up, see what returns, and go from where.

Or buy UV dye and a black light.

This jump tho… Was it intentional? We need details bruh!

    This ^^

I was gonna ask who did the oil change, some clown at quik lube? Probably spilled oil all over. But going airborne also throws the diagnosis for a loop.

Seriously, I wonder if seal on the oil filter housing seated correctly and the leak after the jump is just coincidental. As in, "Oh shit, did I just f**k something up?" Start looking around and discover the oil leak that was already happening?

Oil will likely run down and back due to gravity and air flow, thus coverage on pan wouldn't surprise me. Or, perhaps the jump somehow cracked the oil filter housing (or smashed drain plug).

Good luck, OP. I'd be lying if I said I've never made a bad decision regarding the treatment of a vehicle. Hope any damage is minimal.

Thank you for the kind words. I’m hoping the oil leaking was coincidental. Dipstick still shows the correct amount and oil seems to be evaporating from the undercarriage. Will update later.

Well, you may have gotten lucky then. I can only think of 2 fluids in the engine bay that evaporate at a rate you'd be able to notice. Better check your coolant level, and don't worry 'bout your washer fluid...

I ramped my truck a couple weeks ago while on vacation, was drunk at the rental cabin, accidentally backed down the super steep slope while trying to re park the truck for some reason, so I just had to back up, get momentum, and send it! Bent my running boards pretty good, but all is well. Wish I had it on video, she still drives straight though :bananadead:

    A few things...

You never mentioned what color it is. Does it have a sunroof or not?

You said it got a new starter, did you see if it was full after the install?

You never mentioned what kind of oil was leaking and where. Shock oil? Tranny oil? Engine oil? Rear differential oil? Front differential oil? Middle differential oil? Door hinge oil? Muffler bearing oil? Hydrosolator oil?

How high off the ground did you get it? Are we talking Xgames height here?

Not sure on the source of the oil leak, but I do love all the custom bronze accents under the truck.
Does that come in a kit or did you install all that bronze stuff separately?

Just watched this starter replacement video. If you skip to 8:20, you will see he needs to move the axle away from the front differential which causes the oil to leak. Is there a possibility this is the cause of my oily mess? https://youtu.be/Rlx6MGuh9iU
