Can anybody advise on the proper oil change items I need to do a first oil change. Vehicle is a 2018 SR5 DBL Cab with the 4.6L engine.

I’ll need the filter adaptor wrench, oil filter kit, oil plug gasket, and oil. Not sure if I need the drain hose adaptor. I have torque wrenches.

    Thanks!

I think the filter normally comes with a plastic piece that helps drain the filter housing.

It is not “needed”, but I purchased a Fumoto F103N drain plug valve that I will install on my pan at my next oil change. I also bought the MOTIVX Oil Filter Drain Hose and the OEM metal oil filter housing + metal plug.

Here is a thread about the Fumotos and there are also links to get the MOTIVX tools and OEM metal filter housing + plug.

If you haven’t bought the oil fiter wrench, MOTIVX has the wrench and oil filter drain hose as a bundle and will be cheaper. Both seem to be high quality tools.

Assuming the oil spews out with force on the 4.6 like it does on the 5.7, id advise a piece of cardboard laud up against the inner part of the passenger front wheel. As the person above stated, i too got a Fumoto valve to install on my next oil change.
