Guessing it might have something to do with the recent work I've done on the truck(fuel filter, ignition coils, spark plugs and the fuel injectors).... it shut off on me while I was coming to a stop at a red light. I was able to turn it on right away and drove well for a bit but then while accelerating from another red light it sputtered, had a momentary loss of power then continued to accelerate. Yesterday while I was at a red light I thought I heard my engine sputter but it was so brief I told myself it was probably something else...

I'll be double checking all my work this weekend but wanted to get some insight to what you all think might be my issue.

    Thanks!!

All hoses attached and fuel filter on correctly but I'll double check this again when I get home just to be absolutely sure. Fairly confident it's on the right way.

CEL coming on? Could be a dirty MAF, but that should throw a code. Bad or dirty injectors could also cause this to happen. Gas level good?

Changed the MAF as well actually. CEL has been on for a while cause of bad cats but I'll check to see if there are new codes when I get home. Thanks!

Messing around with the truck and found I have a sputter between 1,600 & 1,800 RPM.

would suspect one of the newer parts. The MAF or the coils perhaps.

Did you disconnect the battery? A few times in my experience after disconnecting the battery to clean the maf, my truck will "stall" at stop signs a few times before the truck "learns" itself again.

Make sure your new maf has the o ring in place.

Very plausible....learned this the hard way when changing oxygen sensors but somewhat glad I did. Found about “Readiness Monitor Drive Pattern” found in the FSM that is a procedure our trucks go thru to learn. Kept failing the “Catalyst Monitor Incomplete”. Long way around the barn, drove normally for a number of cycles and there was peaze in the world !

checked the coils, didn’t notice any cracks or anything.

Haven’t disconnected the battery since replacing the parts. I’ll need to look into the O ring.

    Yes the Hitachi

    Thanks everyone.

If you kept the old parts you can try putting the old maf back on to see if it improves. If not put your new one back on, then try the same with the coils. If that doesn't work, hopefully these aren't Amazon spark plugs, I might try to swap those back to see.

I was thinking there could be some burping to be done of the fuel filter, there could be a bubble on there but I doubt that would cause this sort of issue.

    What injectors did you install?

The cat went out in my brother's truck a few months ago but you couldn't get that thing to go over 15mph. Maybe yours are getting worse?

Could be defective fuel injectors. Even tho they are new does not mean they are not defective. Had it happen to me once on another vehicle

Whenever I've had to unhook my battery or replace it the engine would stall and wouldn't idle. I just kept the A/C on so the enigine would idle higher. Seems as though the computer had to re-learn itself. After maybe 10 miles of driving everything would be fine. At least on my 02 it does that. Good luck!

I think I may have found the issue as I don’t have the sputter around 1,700RPM anymore. One of the fuel injectors might have not been on right/tight. The rubber washer/flange was bulging over to one side.

Checked the MAF O ring and it looked good.
Also checked the codes and Bank 2 Cat seems like it’s on its last leg. The reader had like 4 pages about needing to change if having engine issues. Didn’t have any other codes besides the Cats.

Hopefully it’s good now. Appreciate the input all!
