Another idiot that looked at the max payload instead of the rating on his individual truck. Same as the idiots that overload and tell everyone else it's fine because they haven't had any problems with theirs. This guy didn't have a problem for 25K miles either, but it caught up to him.

You see these exacts posts every few months here. No one knows what a door sticker is.

    From the article:

“”I knew the payload capacity on the truck was about 7,800 pounds and the camper dry weight was close to 5,000 pounds, but fully loaded, probably about 6,500 pounds.”

It’s worth noting that the actual payload capacity of the truck in question is itself in question. While the max payload capacity for a 2020 RAM 3500 is 7,680 pounds (3,483 kg), that’s specific to the regular bed, long-bed model with two-wheel drive and a 6.4-liter V8 engine. The truck here is a crew cab 4×4 dually with a diesel engine which means that its payload capacity is probably closer to 5,850 pounds (2,653 kg).”

But the Camper Salesman told him it was perfect for that truck!! It fit in the bed with just a little bit hanging over!!,,,no problem don’t worry about it, it’ll be fine! Now please sign here and give me da money!!! The person with the truck really should have known better! Dang thing didn’t even fit in the bed therefore it wasn’t made for that truck!!:)

Pretty sure that camper is designed to overhang no matter what, but you'd need a truck with a smaller cab and fewer options. The driver should have read up on the actual payload of his truck instead of just going off the advertised numbers.

That slide in camper that fits in the bed of a truck weighs as much as my 29’ travel trailer? Crazy.

I knew someone was going to say that ^^^^. Anyone can see its built like that! Point is that’s a lot of weight dangling off in neverland!

Imagine trying to get the camper home? Enterprise rents 4500/5500 flatbed trucks..but these are not cheap.

Hopefully he had Good Sams towing insurance. That gives you unlimited miles of tow service.
