Found a set of 4 of these wheels cheap. Thinking of getting them powercoated black for this truck.

Any thoughts? I'd like to stick to 18" Toyota wheels.

I know this has probably been asked several times, but for the life of me I haven't been able to find a clean answer. I have a '17 4x4 with the TSS package 285/55R20 BFG KO2s. I believe these are a 20x9 +50 offset. I'm not interested in changing rims but do need to start picking out some new tires. These tires are 32.3"x11.7". I'm looking at switching to AT3 XLTs in 275/65R20. These are 34.2"x11.1". I believe these will fit based (off of what feels like hundreds) of pages here and on other sites. Using it appears these tires will actually be about .25" further away from my UCAs and about .9" closer to the fenders. I'm currently stock height but plan on leveling with 6112/5100 before too long. Can anyone confirm the fitment?

P.S. I'll try to get a new member post setup this weekend with some pics.

    Hello Everyone!

I have a 2019 Tundra CrewMax Limited with stock tires and rims. I'm wanting to put the largest tire size WITHOUT a lift or level and I don't mind slight trimming. I'm reading that 295/70/R18 or 285/50/R18 are good picks.

    My question to you is:
how can you get a tire company to put on these larger tires that will fit with minor trimming but their computers are saying the largest tire for my Tundra is the stock 275/65/R18? I don't have a garage set up or buddies who own shops to do it for me. Thanks in advance for your help!

I did not have any issues with putting on bigger tires, but I bought my tires through a 4x4 shop, so they are used to upsizing without throwing up red flags.
Have you actually inquired about this and were told that you could not, or are you just preparing for in case they do?

My stock rim is 20"x8" with 60mm offset, if I get a set of rims that are 20"x9" with 0 offset and transfer the existing tires will the tires sink in or could I not use the existing tires due to new rims are wider? New to trucks and I want to change the rims but keep the tires until I wear them out.

It depends upon what your goal is. Putting on larger tires on a stock rim wont change the look all that much in comparison to changing the offset of wheel with same larger tire. You could use a spacer but what is your goal or look you want?

New wheels and tires today. AlphaCommand, 17x8.5, 35mm offset with Cooper Discover AT3 4s 255/75/17, TireRack.com, as soon as I get the 4th one, I'll take it out and report back to the ride difference from the OEM 20's.

285/75/18 Toyo RT on 18” SCS Ray 10’s. Tires are huge and they talked me into going up from 275/70. 6112 Bilsteins stock rear.

Had to chop the cab mounts and am going to have to get the CB shims, my bumper splash guards are off and it looks a little ugly to me.

Rides great though nice and smooth. Tires are super quiet.

Pros just come with a 2” lift up front, no lift in the rear. The rubbing is most likely caused by your wheel offset. The more the wheel sticks out (less offset), the more likely it is to rub. Stock wheels come with about +50mm to +60mm offset and are more tucked in within the fenderwell. Many aftermarket wheels have an offset of between 0mm to +35mm offset, with the 0mm offset sticking out the most. But they also tend to rub more.

Rather than remove the bumper, try to push in or remove the plastic bumper liner covering the fog lights. You can also move the bumper forward a bit using shims.

By the way, what size tires do you have? And what kind of wheel is it and what is its offset if you know?

The 18mm offset is likely what's causing the rubbing. I believe the Pro wheels have an offset of about 50-60mm, so they stick in more. The main problem with high offset wheels, like the stock ones, are that they may cause rubbing on the upper control arm or skid plate when running bigger, wider tires. It would've been great if Toyota had widened and enlarged the fenderwell area a bit to allow for aftermarket wheel/tire upgrades without the rubbing issues, but it is what it is.

I’m getting new tires on Saturday, decided to get cooper at3 xlts. The truck is running 5100s on top setting with an add a leaf in the rear. Tire size options are
    285/75r18 (34.8x11.5)
    295/70r18 (34.3x12)
    275/70r18 (33.2x11.1)
These would be going on stock trd off-road wheels. I’d like to stick with one of the 34s, I’ve had the 275/70r18 with Bilsteins on my last 3 tundras and would like to go bigger. I don’t mind trimming the skid plate (that has to be done with any of these sizes) and I already have all the mud flaps removed. The most off-roading this truck will see is beaches and semi rocky forest trails.

    I just went with 285/75/18

I initially wanted 275/70 based on pictures I saw here but got convinced to go up in size.

They feel big but not ridiculous. I like that they’re still a little narrow.

It’s definitely stiff. I prefer it over the super soft factory ride. I’ve debated moving to the middle notch am adding a shim to soften it up a little

Maybe I’m overthinking this but here is my question. I want to add 6112’s at the 1.9 setting and a tire that will be good in snow. I have decided to go with Ridge Grapplers. I can’t afford to do the 6112’s and tires at the same time before winter unless some extra money falls into my lap.

If I do the tires first I’ll have to go with 285/65/r18 so they will fit with the stock suspension and minimal if any trimming. Will the tire look too small after I add the 6112’s in the spring?
    Thanks in advance everybody!
